I was told it started in WWII because the watch faces had the old radium numbers and hands and they wore them inboard so the glow wouldn't be seen.

When I was a boy back in the 1950’s, a few WWII pilot vets wore their watches like that & explained that it was easier to note the time while handling the controls. Similar to your second argument. Interesting video.

Great points!!! Also going around corners fast and close in houses/buildings, I've bumped it on door jams, corners, etc..Makes total sense to wear it facing inwards. Thanks...

The main reason is NCO’s used to yell at you when you keep checking your watch. So you wore it like that so you could be stealthy about it.

Reason why Military Guys wear their watch like that, is so people will ask them why they wear their watch like that...🤯😅 (Then they can bombard them with Stories about them being in the Military!!!🤓🤣)

I was an infantryman and I just wore it to be able to tell time easier while holding my weapon but he brought up a lot of great points on why to wear it like that
