Brings back memories. Our local AAA Baseball team whenever they came back for a home stand the local top 40 radio station would play this after they announced they were in town.

Apparently, this song was based around a crew that used to hang around the lead singer Phil Lynott mum's pub. They were known as Manchester gangsters. That's why he's really able to paint a picture so vividly with this song. He was really a great songwriter, like a poet. He is greatly missed. This song is an absolute classic, named in Rolling Stones list of one of the best songs of all time. TL had a lot of other great songs like 'Cowboy Song, ' 'Jailbreak, ' and 'Dancing In The Moonlight.'

On top of the pops thin lizzy played Dancing in the Moonlight and Phil the singer / bassist has a big ole black eye so when he said the boys are gonna fight he really ment it
