Thanks doc.
A year ago I had dental implant on left upper front tooth.
It healed, porcelain crown on it by my dentist and this week I will have a check up/control by the surgeon who put the implant in my jaw.
I think both surgeon and dentist did a great job, but yes I think total costs 2500 euro.
But most important I do not want infections on it and be honest if your car has a scratch or worse you pay even more.

In 2015 i lost three molars because of periodontitis; first the gum disease was treated, when my mouth was healthy again i got 3 implants; perfect solution. I go to the clinic to get my mouth cleaned professionally every three/four months now, that way my mouth and implants stay healthy :).

I live in NYC and paying 47k just for the 8 teeth for the implants. Granted the dentist is great. I can see why USA citizens are running to South America and Europe for dental work. Nice to see your considerate regarding cost.

I have seen bridges last 60+ years. So, your claim there is "no tooth replacement option that will last as long" as implants is categorically false. That being said, anyone can mismanage their success with a dental restoration. The issue is not which is lasts longer, as both options can last a long time, but which is more likely to last longer in a particular patient's mouth. For that one needs to know medical history, personal oral hygiene history, and so on.

What if the implant does not take then what? I've heard that past dental patients have had a disaster with implants. Also they don't feel like your own teeth when eating - that there is a difference to adjust to! Personally, I think implants are still overpriced for what they are! If you are putting into the equation of longevity of the implant I think that this is an unfair pricing for a single tooth! No wonder people are running over to Turkey for their dental treatments!
