Wow, I had a Maryland dental bridge. Numbers 29, 31 anchored the Pontic 30. I ended up losing 29 and 30 due to decay. You are absolutely right it doesn’t make sense to shave down two normal healthy teeth to place a bridge where most patients don’t floss. I am now scheduled to have three implants that I will replace in full cast high noble gold.

My dentist said I could either get a root canal or an implant. The problem is that the root structure is compromised and would involve multiple procedures to try and save the tooth. My dentist did give me a choice, but when I asked him what his professional opinion was, he recommended extraction. I have a damaged tooth from bruxism and a cavity formed inside the part that was damaged. The cavity is all the way to the root. I'm relieved to have so many options, and am glad implants are now an option. I would've just risked the root canal otherwise. It's my second molar so at least it won't be noticeable while I wait for a crown.

I got my implant and crown finished in December of last year. The day I got my crown, my braces came off as well. A whole year and a half journey and the best investment!!

I had a lot of talk with my dentist who is a really knowledgable guy and very nice and easy going and thats how I became interested in dentistry and I have to say teeth are a fascinating organ, so that's why I'm here. Not planning to become a dentist but wanna know more about teeth for sure.

I have 2 implants (beside each other) because I accidently fell head first on tile (that was hard) and had to get one of my teeth pulled and then had to get the 2 implants. Yes, it does take several appointments, but I'm so glad I went with them, so I don't have to worry about taking them out at night and such.

Love how detailed this is! I currently am with a Prosthodonist/General, we work with periodontists to help eachother with cases because ofc they both relate with implants. I like how you compare the 4 options people have because it is a reality that patients have to think about pricing VS the long term results. The benifits of knowing this knowledge prior to hygiene is the best! Haha and PLEASE do topics on both hygiene and dentistry in general!

I got a bone graft and in six months I am getting my dental implant. I am definitely scared of getting it. I wasn’t afraid of getting my wisdom teeth out pulled out tho.

I had another option done. My dentist glued a facade in between the two surrounding teeth. Looks real and I have had no problems with it other than I can't floss those teeth. I have to baby that side of my mouth but if there is a problem in the future, I will get an implant.

It says that implants last around 20 years, what happens after that time? Will only the crown be replaced or the implant as well?

Done, anesthesia is almost gone, I didn't feel any pain during the procedure and I feel fine right now, no pain just a tiny bit sore, it almost feels like nothing was done

Thank you for providing to the point required information in a fun way. I liked how you are flashing your teeth by smiling most of the time. I lost a root-canalled tooth as i lost the cap and misplaced it during covid time. The tooth is beyond repair as per the dentist. Also they are going to remove a wisdom tooth tomorrow. I wish that all the process would be less painful and I can have good teeth for onger time in future.
