I mean, it works and is the easiest you can do to loose weight, control insulin resistance, etc. If you go little by little there are no side effects. First step: skip breakfast and anything between meals. Second step: try to eat as healthy as you can (avoid processed food), try keto or just avoid carbohydrates, try healthy snacks, try new foods and recipes. For example I exchanged soda for mineral water, bread and sweets with fruit. * It's ok to last several months trying steps 1 and 2, there's no need to rush to OMAD. Step 3: You are eating healthy mostly by now, try to have dinner as early as possible and reduce your portions slightly (most of your calories are in the lunch and you will have a light dinner). Then try to have only one meal a day, skip dinner for one or two (non consecutive) days a week. Step 4: have longer fasts 2 or 3 times a month (go from 24 hrs. in the beginning to 48 hrs.). Do One Meal A Day at least 5 days a week. Again, it's ok if it takes you 6 months or one year to achieve OMAD, the most important thing here is not achieving a 48 hrs. fast, but changing your habits and eating healthy. Also, if you only need to prep one meal a day, you can spend more on better ingredients and it will take much less time to do it. Just by doing Step 1 and 2 for a year will change your life, trust me. If you add light/moderate exercise it will improve your health greatly. Try steps 3 and 4 and if it is not for you, stick to the first two steps.
