The pre-runaway speech was beautiful, 10/10.

Ol Bastards are tougher than one may realize. In my wrenching days, Detroits were very common. And many were a pain in the recktal region. Nice video!

I really enjoy how you rip apart the engine to figure out what caused the failure! Oh ya and your meticulous disassembly of the truck and engine! Nicely done!

You've been nominated for a Emmy in two categories. Best goodbye speech and best post-mortem.

I believe that Detroit 2 strokes should be saved... In trucks that are worth saving. That thing was a piece of junk. Great show to watch and certain bit of satisfaction knowing that it still held up for anytime at all under those conditions. Always love watching how you get those darn things out of the frame.

The hands down best content creator on YouTube. No bs, no fancy giveaways, just old school ways of doing things. Love it, don’t ever change!

As much as I like seeing old diesels tear themselves apart, that speech was AWESOME! Thank you for taking the time.

Not gonna lie. I absolutely LOVE the sound of a Detroit 2 stroke.

I'm amazed at how well four cylinders survived after that amount of heat and WOT.

Is it possible for the next runaway to setup an RPM meter??? That would be way cool!!! The thing sounds like a jet engine, ready to take off!!!

"I want to clarify something for you real is a piece of s**t"

Absolutely brilliant man. No other way it could have been said. Love the channel.

Honestly just looks like you’re having to much fun, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

I gotta tell you. I worked on these pieces of junk many years. I often wished I could have done this many times. This was a very satisfying video! Thank you! What happens is the collets on the valves fail and then the valves fall into the cylinders.

Hearing that 671 run brought back bad memories. Now I will have to go to therapy.

I had an injector stick on a brand new Detroit 60 series motor. Drove it from Ruse, Bulgaria to Kaiserslautern, Germany and it didn’t let go. Drained the oil when I got back and there was about 20+ gallons of fuel/oil mix in the pan

we had a 1977 Detroit Deisel and it survived 2 runaways at 6000 rpm. it finally died last year. we pulled it apart and it had thrown a rod. (not out the block mind you.) had signs of piston/valve contact on cylinder 4 3 and 6. and a snaped valve spring on cylinder 1. but surviving two diesel runaways? that thing was a trooper

Pop started various vehicles in many ways, but that chain start is a Hoot! Must have lots of faith in that chain ⛓️
