Don't Buy a GPU as Prices Fall

GPU prices are falling, but that doesn't mean you should buy one. At this point you might just be better off waiting for RTX 4000, AMD RX 7000 (RDNA 3) or Intel ARC.

Eh I think people are foolish to think next gen will be affordable and it also won’t be that much of leap I think people should buy if they find a good deal with the way things have been next gen could be just as hard and expensive as this gen

It seems they are gonna do it in small gradual steps, they go down slowly for a week or more, they hold back there for a while to see how many take the bait, then another week of daily small drops, then repeat. But cards will drop, miners already salivating on intel ARC leaks and that will flood the market with gaming cards.

Man, I went to college in 2016 and only had a school laptop that I could sorta game on. It's been 6 years since then, and it's still all I've got. Between the spells of being busy, periods of having no dispensable income, and the parts shortage, I am feeling so betrayed by my pc gaming hobby :/ I've been so anxious to play so many games, but alas I can only run a few things like csgo or league of legends at minimal settings and pray for 40-60 fps in the meantime.

It really sucks waiting to buy pc parts with this garbage. 11:22 if I wasn't perpetually strapped for cash I would just pull the trigger. As it stands... I'm gonna be waiting that 6-8 months. Props to you for doing giveaways so people can get cool stuff in trying times

Got enough extra money for rtx3080 at the moment. I've been eyeing the card on online store for a while now. Since the price seems going down week after week, I was about to snatch one. But now after watching this video, I think I will just wait a bit more. Currently running rtx 2060 for years now, and it handles games I play pretty well. So getting a new gpu is not a priority. But you know, looking at those 3000 series gpu close at their msrp is surely tempting.

What the video games are lacking nowadays are gameplay and artstyle. Not graphics.
Video game enjoyment is mostly about game development, not the GPU. High 1080p 1440p is totally fine.

I was able to buy a new gen console last year as I could not get a PC. I can't say that it is a full replacement to a computer, but it plays games extremely well. I'll wait until the next gen GPUs

Should put a caveat in these videos that one reason to wait for the 40 series is that the 30 series will drop in price and to only expect to get one of those. Anyone who has followed the market for the past 10 years knows the 40 series WILL be out of stock immediately and above MSRP on arrival, you will NOT be able to buy a 40 series for the same price as the current 30 series for many months. This happens with every new generation regardless of supply and demand. I don't know why these videos don't ever warn about that and seem to want to allow people to think the 40 series will just be easy to buy for the average person and will cost only the same as the current gen pricing, this is never the case. If you see a good deal in the next 3 months, depending on what you can afford on your budget it is smart to get 30 series at a good price (MSRP or lower).
