Budget GPUs are DEAD. (GPU News)

AMD is stopping production of the go-to budget graphics card: the RX 6600 (plus RX 6600 XT and RX 6650 XT). Nvidia is stopping production of the most popular GPU in the world: the RTX 3060. VRAM prices might be going up. Yeah, this is the perfect storm to basically annihilate the budget GPU market, hopefully not though.

Nvidia is launching a 48GB GPU in China. HUGE News about completely re-done raytracing on AMD's next GPUs- RDNA 4 / RX 8000. Ryzen 9000 (Zen 5) has been a crrrazy ride so far. Nvidia is being investigated for anti-trust violations. Google was CONVICTED of Anti-trust violations and monopolistic behavior. ARM might be making a graphics card???

Do not buy even 3050 8GB, HUB shown that rx 6600 is 10-15% faster than 3050 8GB for lower price at the time

RX 6600 user here. I love it, its 280 USD in my country but still the cheapest by far. I hope that the next gen RTX 5060 or RX 8600 are good deals

its worse outside the us, the 6600 is over 200 and the 6650xt is 240. The 1660 ti is still 220 because they intentionaly charge you that price for cards that go out of production, we used to get good under 200 cards, so how its gonna be from now on, you need 300 plus for a budget card? So in 2 gens we will pay 400 full console price for a budget card?

The only hope for "budget" GPU's at this point is intel Battlemage. AMD/Nvidia are still offering nothing in the budget category. Their 5060/7600 are very likely 8GB cards and more than likely $300 MSRP. Rumors are that intel might offer something with 12GB in the range of $250 USD if they do that will become the budget option, at this point I'll believe it when I see it. These fukin companies are pricing a lot of people out of PC gaming.

In the last 3 years there was an inflation of at least 25% in dollar terms. So these low budget prices are still the same as they ever were.

I went this year from a 1060 6GB to a RTX 4070, which is a huuuge bump in performance for me, but with the pricing, I still feel like I was robbed

Capitalism was dead in general when every company out there started shovelling the word "premium" into every bit of unnecessary dog shit they try to sell. Soon you'll be seeing "premium" food at the grocery store which is 10x the price but is just the stuff we used to buy for normal prices and the shit priced within reach will be rotten garbage. People ask me what they should do to get into gaming these days, I tell them "don't bother and find a real hobby that doesn't try to fist you every chance it gets". None of this hardware is worth even a fraction of what they try to charge.

RDNA 4 is not an RDNA 3 refresh. AMD does not refresh architectures, they do occasionally refresh product lines.
