The Value of Brand Strategy

In the first few minutes of this video, hearing those client suggestions - I literally felt my blood pressure going way up.

It was couple of years ago, during an in-house re-branding that I experienced everything you described. The silver lining was that it made me examine my process and lead me on a path to discovering the Futur and the wonderful Pro Community.

This is exactly what I would love to do for my clients. How strange it may sound finding those or them finding me seems to be my biggest issue. I'm kind of stuck with those low-budget clients that don't really care about Branding or Brand Strategy or have the funds to invest. I hope to see one of the lessons covering this, looking forward to all of them!

This is the distinction between being an artist and a strategist. A great Artist creates beautiful things for themselves or simply for aesthetic reasons. It requires more mental effort and forethought to put something together that is dictated by the goals of the project for the success of the project.

It should never waiver; Setting up goals, allows us as directors or consultants to be able to speak to our choices and to implement them into field testing and later into consistent practice.

Hi Melinda.

First, thank you for the video and newsletter. Despite signing in for the newsletter a few weeks ago, only now am I discovering the mini-course provided there. And what a valuable gift for my birthday, the day you released this video, but just opened today my present, eheheh!

Second, I really hope you are well, and laying your path firmly, into the future. I've taken a look to your website and you have already, to me at least, a good foundation, both in Portfolio and Blog (Journal) but would like to know more of how's it going, because I'm considering, trying to, move from Communication Designer to Brandegist (don't know if the term is already used, if not, my «creation» :D).

Third, speaking of The Futur, I've been binging their content for a while now, been a fan for a few years already, and I must admit that I'm trying to follow the ground Chris, Marty Neumeier, Seth Godin, Fabian, you and others, had already laid. This is also new to me, this change, but all the help is well received, so I try to binge in order to process in my mind all the knowledge. This pandemic ended up, fortunately or unfortunately, to allow me to «speed up» and binge all that I can. I started with Seth Godin and Fabian, besides, of coure, Chris, but I've already seen Marty's appearance on The Futur, and your «path to sucess», which I wish you to, also in the list to be seen, but the fact that there is so much content needs to be depurated to what is meaningful to me at this time.

Fourth, I find it interesting that you mentioned some of this people I also refer to in this video alone. Considering brands as The Futur, or people, can I just mention them without worries in a video like this or do I need some sort of approval? I'm also writing my blog (Seth's advice somewhere, «start writing daily»), and over a month already I've written daily one or more posts, so, since the 21st of October, with 2 posts from this video, I've already did 73 posts. I mentioned you, Seth, all the ones I remember when I write regarding something, but haven't yet published nothing yet (in Portuguese, considering that I'm Portuguese and want to address at least at first my local possible market, at most a national one for now), and after this video got a bit worried if I can mention people like that... Not sure, so, any tips on this are also helpful.

Fifth, going to see other videos, most likely on the next days, because they might end up also helping me to create posts! :D

I completely feel understood. I was lucky on my first three projects, because after a first-phase of knowing each-other, I created a good communication-relationship with my clients. But with a new one... I am exactly at the point described by the video (my mom likes red...) and I can't understand why

i am taking courses later in the futur Bootcamp and core discovery both and in the Coursera brand strategy too will it give me my answer to the questions about brand strategy i am i at the right place to look for strategy in the future youtube channel, fabian geyrhalter and marty neumier i have bought books too.
i know its kinda stupid asking about them in your youtube channel but i am dumb and i suffering from imposter syndrome.

i just want to ask that is that what brand strategy i am looking for in the futur Bootcamp and core discovery. i am really good at graphic design but i really want to help business and earn more money through brand strategy and brand identity design

in short will i be able to help business to achieve thier goal after taking all these things (cringing hard :) )
