Bruce Lee once said "To defeat a Martial Artist that's been training for 15 yrs, all you have to do is Box and Wrestle for 1 year and you got him".

Boxing will help you get in shape. Wing chun have you in the shape of a competitive gamer.

A lot of people saying a lot of things about wing chun without having any real perspective of what it is and how it is used. Wing chun is NOT for an MMA fight, or a fight where two people dance around eachother in some macho show of ego. Wing Chun is made to quickly respond to unexpected attack on the street. Someone throws a punch at you, you immediately respond with a block and flurry of hits and leave the scene. That's it. That's wing chun.

It's not for a game of two fighters weaving in and out, spacing eachother, goading eachother to hit first. It doesn't have a sporting background like that. It is also not a martial art based around athleticism. If you have the speed and athleticism to be great at Muay Thai or boxing GO DO THAT! But it's made for people who weren't blessed like that, who want to protect themselves in most real life situations with the majority of the people they're likely to come into contact with.

Lot of people saying wing chun doesn’t work must not know anything about Kung fu or martial arts..it’s not about the technique it’s about the person using the technique..wing chun works it depends on how well you learn the technique and how skilled you are at using it ..look it this way ..one person can use a shriken and injur or miss their opponent or target but another person can hit or kill their target with the same object ..it’s not the object fault it’s how well and effective you are at using an object or technique..but wing chun does work well any form of fight style work it’s a matter of how effective you are at using it

It’s like none of you have seen UFC 1. Also any half decent amateur boxer annihilates any wing chun master

I've seen a lot of criticism online about Wing Chun. The two biggest issues that plague it (by reputation) are:
1) That the correct body mechanics to generate power are not taught (particularly with the straight blast, being a bunch of punches that don't do much damage).
2) That in Wing Chun you rarely spar, and instead focus on drills such as sticky hands.

How would you respond to these criticisms?

No one has ever won a profesional fight using win chun. It doesn’t work. You can’t block an actual opponent with it.

Some profesional fighters have gotten the .1 percent of win chun what world and incorporated it into other real martial arts. But an 18 year old can beat any win chun master

My opinion I think Wing Chun is better just because you, can defend yourself and have a lot of power speed I started doing wing Chun right now and got to say you inspired me with it.

Wow! You can't help but just listen from the master. Both styles don't need back flips or gymnastics to fight. These are effective combat styles. You can get a lot of good quotes too. Thanks Sifu and more power.

It's always the individual that brings out the best in every fighting style. You cannot say one is better than the other. Any gifted fighter can make any art of fighting look effective

It all depends on your opponent? If they know boxing only . They don't know of other attacks that comes at them and what direction?
