Burgman's not exactly a looker, but that BMW is hideous.

I don't understand some comparisons the Burgman is for long distance rides the electric scooter cannot do that. Don't get me wrong it needs updated but they have different jobs.

I've riden the Burgman. Its a really good scotter. Very easy to get on and off of. Frankly I think that's its selling point is how damn comfortable it is to ride. Something I don't think you're going to get with the BMW.

KLX300SM would’ve been a better comparison to the DRZ. Cheaper, 6 gears, no carb. Probably not as fast. But closer comparison than the trident.
But for the DRZ to be around 20 years with no changes and still be selling the way it does has to say something.

Love your reviews! However, you miss it totally on the Burgman v BMW! I own and have toured the state of Texas on scooters. The Burgman sets the standard of scooters...it is well built and extremely reliable, something the BMW is not! Many folks in America totally don't get scooters! I currently have the Yamaha XMAX in the 300 class and it runs a close second to the Burgman. You guys are smart...I bet if you rode the Burgman v BMW you might have a different outcome...give it a shot! Keep up the good work...you guys are the best!

Had two DRZ400SM's. Both 07's first bought new, second one bought slightly used. 27k miles between the two. As long as you have access to tight bumpy twisty roads with low traffic that bike is magical. It is both super fun and very forgiving. And that is the key to its magic. Many other bikes have more power, stronger brakes, better suspension. I've ridden Husky 450/510/610 SM's, KTM690's, modified WR450SM, XR650SM, 450 EXC-SM. All fun bikes but all of them [Husky 610 closest to the DRZ] will forgive far less silliness and sloppiness than the DRZ. I think it was Motorcyclist mag that labeled the 400SM, "the most idiot proof bike that can do 100mph" And I have to agree fully. Ive had super fun on my DRZ's chasing sportbikes in the twisties, doing dual sport rides and even riding it on quad and motocross tracks. I've been riding for 20+ years and it still would be at the top of my list if I still had Northern California riding available to me. Sadly I don't anymore.

I understand the hate on the drz, I bagged on them for years for the same reasons of ancient tech etc. but then I bought one. I’ve had 3 crf250l’s, just as many KLR650’s, a DR650 and a few others in between. The suspension (I have an SM) beats any Japanese dualsport aside from the 450L and it’s got the same power as the KLR650’s but it’s 100 lbs lighter and matches the 250’s weight. Maybe Suzuki can find some money in the couch cushions minor tweak and FI that bike to bring it up to euro 5 like Kawi did with the KLR. But if you bought the CRF300L threw suspension at it and power adders you still wouldn’t be at a stock DRZ. Keep up the good work I enjoy watching you guys.

A $30K Harley-Davidson should be first on that list..

the difference between the trident and the DRZ is that the DRZ will still be hauling ass down a back road for decades, while the trident will probably be in a landfill in less than 5 years.

Great video! And I was pleased to hear how much knowledge you have about bikes. The Triumph is a great deal compared to the DRZ! And the number and quality of the girl quotient isn't even close 😯
I'm interested in your thoughts on The Grom and Z125pro. And other competitors. I heard a lot of rumors on competition a few years ago but haven't had the time to research. Also, are Groms still so popular dealers are getting full price or even above MSRP these days? Thanks. 👍🏻

Guys - go out and ride these things (Especially that DR-Z!) and ride them well. I can almost guarantee that your opinion will change. Compare apples to apples fairly and you'll save yourself a lot of flak.

Not really fair to compare a DRZ to a trident. Two totally different segments. A good value to the DRZ is the RE Himalayan.

Even if it's not a great deal as a new bike, the DR-Z is one of the best values as a used bike. My 15 year old DR-Z 400e (off-road version with higher compression and better carb) has all the features of a new one off the showroom floor.

Also if you haven't ridden one yet, I dare you to ride one like you stole it. You will have fun, guaranteed.

Makes no sense. A person going for drz, will not go for trident - it’s not a super moto. If you can put another super moto against drz, that’s makes sense. Second thing there people who loves old school, simple, reliable stuff - that’s why drz is still on the market. I am surprised

Guy's, you forgot to compare you can buy 3 Honda Navi's for the sales tax you'd pay on a Kawasaki Ninja H2R, lol.

Zero is now the EA Games of the mortorcycle world. Pay for the game (bike), then pay more to unlock features.

Also we all know Suzuki only updates graphics, want new features? buy a "new" bike that has not been introduced to the market more then 10 years ago, or switch brands. The DRZ is just a testament to this.
