Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in August. My A1C was at 10.8, blood sugar at 298. Just recently tested and A1C is at 5.6. Blood sugar levels within last 90 days is at 110. This has not been easy. I'm 6'2" and now weigh 160. Was 196 when diagnosed. This channel has helped a lot about learning more about dealing with this condition. Thanks Dr.

Four days a week I have steel cut oats (not the three minute ones) with healthy toppings, stevia and unsweetened almond milk. I then walk for an hour in the morning. Blood sugar went from 14 to 6.3 in five weeks. Walking really brings my blood sugar down.

Diabetes rates increased quite a bit when the A1C threshold was lowered. Many people that weren't diabetic became diabetic overnight when the A1C were changed. The same thing has happened to cholesterol and blood pressure. Diabetes rates also increased when the low fat diets were adopted to treat obesity. Turns out the low fat diets increased obesity due to high carbohydrates and much more added sugars in foods to replace dietary fat.

My blood sugar was 8.5, now my blood sugar is 7.1 on the A1C scale. I'm a happy camper! I eat low carb flat bread once or twice a week, boiled chicken, no pork, no processed lunchmeats, very little diet carbonated drinks, I do intermittent fasting too. I drink Voss water and try to stay active at 62, if I can do it, you can too😊

I'm in the UK so some of the figures we use are different to the US but I wanted to share that it can be done 😁 in under 4 months I've just received my results from an HBA1C on November 12th and they're non diabetic at 41 mmol/mol 5.9% back on July 20th they were 116 mmol/mol 12.9% when I was diagnosed. My cholesterol has come down to 5.2 from 6.7 and my blood pressure to 130/60 from 150/90 during the same time frame...not to mention the 50 pounds I'm lighter and 4 dress sizes smaller 😁 low GI carbs, no simple carbs, no added sugar, low saturates and no processed foods along with daily exercise has changed my life, great advice like this is so valuable!!! 💕

I was 16 years old when I found out that I have diabetes. It's not new to me because my mom's family have also diabetes (one of her sister died due to diabetes) and now I'm 17, being aware of foods that are not allowed to eat. As a filipino, you cannot just ignore the rice!! even the unhealthy foods that was served on the table! coz my siblings don't like vegetables and you just have to forcefully eat that oily foods coz if not, you have to buy eggs and boil it.

I am so happy I discovered your channel. I feel so much better about my ability to do something positive about my diabeties. I have been watching a lot and made many changes and it helps. I feel like I have been thrown to dealing with this alone for the most part my Dr has advised eating more veg... and given me meds and that is about it.

I’m happy you said boiled sweet potatoes are a better option. I absolutely love mashed sweet potatoes with a little salt and pepper, smart balance buttery spread and with dill. So good! I’ll eat a small portion with meat and a leafy green salad with a ton of veggies and with oil and vinegar dressing. I’ve been on a low carb diet for about 5.5 months and have lost over 40 lbs! Not only that but I’m exercising a lot more than I ever was and now I’m not obese, overweight— I’m actually thin! Discipline pays off. My blood sugar is in check. Things are falling into place. Thanks for all the info you provided. Much appreciated!

Sadly in the US all the healthy food is horribly expensive. It makes this so much harder

Thank you so much for this info!! I am a severely overweight, pre-diabetic 57 yr old with psoriatic arthritis that is out of control. I am finding my morning sugar levels creeping up without a diet change. So, I started watching your videos. I am convinced that my inflammation level affects my morning sugar levels, but I didn't know much about the foods that may be making the inflammation worse!! This all started in 2012. I went to Italy for 14 days and lost 10 lbs while eating everything but desserts. I felt amazing! Then, shortly after I returned and started eating the garbage in the USA, my whole body was hit with joint and skin inflammation. I am convinced that the super wheat GMOs here was a big factor. Well, short of moving, I need to find a way to live HERE and your information is a big help! I don't think I'll ever eat french fries again! Thank you and hopefully I will get healthier!

I have a Cardiologist because my father and his father my brother had bad heart condition and died from heart attack. I'm a firm believer in getting a physical every year and check my blood and I test over 6.0 A1C level. Lately I've tested 6.7 A1C level in couple of blood test in a row. The Doctor feels I should start me on Metformin 500mg 2 tablets in the morning with my breakfast to prevent me being diabetic. But this is really a very good video and eyeopener. Thanks for the great video.
