This reminds me of a promotion I got in the military in 2004. There was a tradition where we would "walk a gauntlet" where we walk down a line and all our colleagues punch us on our new rank insignia. The entire back half of my arm was purple like that. I tried to open a door, and when I used that particular muscle, a jolting pain shot through my entire body that felt like I was being electrocuted.
