Just a quick mention about Fugu, not only chefs needs to go couple years of training to get license but they literal graduation is to eat their own dish. The out come tells if you pass or fail.

Another thing to watch out for is mistaken identity when dealing with "wild crafted" foods; in the southeastern US, there is a dangerous plant known as "pokeweed, inkberry, " or "pokeberry" that can be mistaken for anything from rhubarb to blueberries by inexperienced foragers, and the dangers of mushroom hunting could fill a whole video of it's own!

Another note about potatoes. I've heard stories of people dying in their root cellars because of a poisonous gas called solanine given off by rotting potatoes. Great video as always 👍.

My brother told me you can consume the liquid in a Magic 8ball and predict the future, I told him to prove it. He started rolling on the floor saying he was gonna die, and he did.

Mace in reference to the spray is a brand. The active ingredient is CN gas that has been dissolved in hydrocarbon solvents. It has absolutely nothing to do with the spice.

Es curiosa la yuca porque, a pesar de ser un alimento un tanto peligroso, en Venezuela se suele consumir sin ningún problema. Por lo general, suele ser:

Hervida: Se pican en varios pedazos, se les quita la cáscara, se ponen a remojar para lavarlas y luego se ponen a hervir, muy comunes como acompañante en una parrilla. También suelen ser añadidas en algunas sopas.

Fritas: Se hace el mismo proceso de picarlas, pelarlas y lavarlas, solo que ahora simplemente se ponen a freír y ya está.

Aunque, su uso más conocido es el mítico "casabe", que ahí sí se procede a extraer todo el jugo tóxico que tiene y se hace la respectiva preparación de este alimento.

También han sido usadas para hacer arepas.

I know some other foods that are infamously deadly - much of the food kept in storage at the resturants on Kitchen Nightmare.

I have read the horror stories of people using nutmeg to trip. It does not sound fun. It is so much worse than baby woodrose seeds if eaten whole which I have done and that made me quite sick after a few hours.

I've actually had most of the non protein ones, though I'm allergic to rhubarb. Heres a few fun ones for you
Green tomatoes- like potatoes, they're in the nightshade family, so never eat them uncooked or eat fried green tomatoes in large quantities.
Hydrocyanic acid is also found in all prunus - cherries, plums, etc. It's concentrated in the non fruit part of the plant, but cherry pits that get missed can be (and historically were) a huge problem beyond the choking hazard.
