After being a vegetarian for over 10 years with failing health from a so healthy vegetarian diet. I had joint pain brain fog and gallbladder pains. I made the switch to a keto diet then a year later and animal-based diet and it saved my health. After two years of being on an animal-based diet I'm strong and healthy again all my health issues are gone my blood work is great!

Thank you Dr Westman. I was diagnosed pre diabetic 18 months ago. My Doctor wanted to discuss medication. I said NO! Eliminated sugar immediately! Four weeks later, blood tested normal. Lost 85 pounds since then. Reduced blood pressure meds. No more joint pain. No more ocular migraines. Lymphedema in legs seems to be gone (fingers crossed). Walk 1 mile every day rain or shine. Sugar? Forgot about it!

Sad to see a Medical doctor resorting to “click bait” or sensational headlines to get views. Keep up the good work Dr Westman calling out these folks! I’m 61 year old “diabetic” who takes zero meds and has an A1c of 5.3, my Dr says I’m a diabetic who controls it by diet. BTW, I have been controlling it for 8+ years and have maintained my 60 lbs weight loss for the same time.

Just seeing my husband lose 50 pounds on the keto diet, reverse type 2 diabetes, and have his blood pressure meds. become a thing of the past because he is now at a perfect blood pressure tells me that the keto diet is a life saving diet.

Keto took me from 280 to 180 lbs. Show me a study that says I'd be better off at 280 and I'll listen. Oh, and show me a diet study that actually proves anything or has any data beyond wishful garbage and I'll be impressed.

I went IF with Keto, keeping under 20 net grams a day of carbs, with a 500 calorie deficit, and lost my extra weight with no hunger, lost all my allergies, swelling in my joints, and asthma. I am so THANKFUL, to have discovered keto six years ago.

The thing that I like about Dr. Westman is that he seems to have an open mind. If the data actually showed a problem with his current recommendations, he would change them. If eating apples every day reversed insulin resistance and fostered weight loss, he would recommend it. Another thing these videos never mention about keto is that it takes away the sugar craving. So, no matter what calories-in-calories-out diet they suggest, without carb restriction, people like me can't stick to it long term.

Thanks Dr. Westman. I started keto 3 years ago to lessen inflammation. It's worked very well and the doctor doesn't even mention that benefit. My doctor has taken me off both of my daily meds and says my diet is working very well. I don't have any plans to go back.

Stopped watching Sugar MD when the pushing of His supplements started....I did an oatmeal is good for me experiment...blood sugar went from 122 up to 240 After 3 hrs! Now when I had a small steak with the fat on it my blood sugar was 88 after 3 hours. I know who I am listening to!! Dr Westman!!

I know for a fact that if I didn't find Keto over 5 yrs ago, I would not be alive today. I was morbidly obese, could hardly breathe, I was on so many medications, I was applying for and needed disability. Within 4 months of starting keto I was off all but 1 medication. after 2 yrs I weighed 155 pounds less. I was able to get a very active job working 12 hours on my feet. I haven't gotten sicker, I got more healthy. If nothing else Keto gave me over 5 extra years with an amazing quality of life. I have walked to the highest peak mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains. There are those out there who greatly benefit from people being sick. "Eat your carbs and take your meds!"

Apparently Dr. SugarMD slept through that lecture in med school when they explained gluconeogenesis, which is the metabolic pathway whereby the liver creates glucose in the amounts necessary when there is no or very little dietary intake of carbohydrates. That's what prevents the blood sugar from going to zero on a ketogenic diet if the small amount of carbs eaten isn't sufficient. When people become adapted to the keto diet, they don't become hypoglycemic.

This is what I know, Im 72, was a " healthy eater" recommended amounts of carbs, fibre, fruit and veg, little animal products. I was overwreight, bloated, chronic constipation, sleeping was interrupted, high bp. Racing towards type 2 diabete, on various pain meds and was miserable . carnivore ( but eat selected veg and berries) after being keto. I am now pain free, take zero meds, my chronic conspitation is resolved I feel wonderful and don't intend changing my eating habits for anyobe. Thank you for this post. 😘
