I’ve always loved long walks and for the last 2 months had religiously gathered at least 10k steps daily, so I thought why not challenge myself a bit more and try to do 20k daily? And so I did. I walked 20,000 every day for 30 days.

In this video I take you with me on my journey and share all the amazing benefits I gained, including reduced stress and anxiety, mental clarity, and even weight loss. However, a challenge is not a challenge without some unexpected struggles…

It takes me 2.5 hrs to walk 20k steps. I start at 4am & finish by 6:30am which burns 800 cal. Took me a month to go from 10k to 20k. Everything you said holds true for me too! My body, mind & soul feel aligned & I'm the happiest version of myself! I also burn 200 cal in the evening by stretching & lifting weights for 30mins. Thanks for sharing your experience! 💕

I did 20k per day for 6 weeks. 8k at 5am and 8k at 5pm, 7 days a week. The other 4k I got through my normal work day. Completley turned my health profile around. Blood pressure went from 180/110 to 130/85. My chloresteral went from 255 down to 193 and I lost 20 pounds off my skinny fat frame. I also stopped drinking and stopped eating most carbs.

I just did 10k steps for 7 days, motivated to do 10k steps for 30 days! This was so motivating to watch. Thank you for sharing this ♥

I got a desk treadmill for my office two weeks ago I am averaging 18, 000-21, 000 steps a day. All from my desk at work from 9am-5pm. I’m on my third week and I’m feeling great! I recommend walking to everyone that can!

Last month I challenged myself and walked one million steps per month, which is roughly an average of 36k steps a day. It was a lot easier than I thought. I’m going do it again this month

You nailed it when you said you can do all these simultaneous activities while walking. I finish multiple books every week. There is no way in hell i would ever read that many books in one week. My recommendation for a really good walking book is "Atomic Habits"

Walking is the best. I love how gourmand starts to wonder if you aren't distracted by your phone, and all the mental processing that happens during the walk.

The brain effects are even better when doing the steps in big chunks
Beta endorphin (happy chemical) doesnt get released until weve walked at least 30 mins. So 3 seperate hours is much better for mood than just a few steps frequently throughout the day. I always did ny steps in 3 x 1 hour sessions.

I have been wanting to go from 10k a day to 20k and more. I have no problem doing it physically, however finding the motivation to go out and walk for hours when it hasn't stopped raining for more than a day at a time for the last 18 months is a different story. I hate living in England some times :(

Enjoyed watching this video and listening to your take on this workout regime. I'm a lifelong endurance athlete but unfortunately injuries have taken a toll on me both mentally and physically. I've transitioned into walking/hiking to stay active. I'm sticking with the 20, 000 steps daily so far and I've enjoyed it.

I’ve just started walking a week ago. Been hitting 6-8k steps and already feel so good. I have about 6 kilos to lose but i walk for other therapeutic benefits, especially for my diabetes. Such an underrated excercise!

As a Finnish person I am *stunned* and amused that you would describe a sunny trail in nature as sketchy and creepy 😂 What on earth! My favorite thing about the location I currently live in is that in every direction there is a forest, field or nature reserve close by! It really motivates me to go out! During certain times they are full of people, mostly walking their dogs, but I often get so absorbed in my work making games that I only remember to go out at night and the only area I've felt slightly uncomfortable at night is where the local bar is.

I once spent an overnight in a holding cell/drunk tank lol. Basically a concrete box with a concrete bed and no mattress or pillow. It was horrific and really an abuse by the police to put a person in those conditions for being drunk while walking home. Anyway, it was the most anxietal, terrifying, and awakening situation in my life. And more than any other thing, when I was let out the next day, just being able to walk around (not drunk lol) and go anywhere your mind desires is a FREEDOM many of us take for granted much. Walking = Freedom.

I’ve been walking at least 20, 000 steps a day for about 3 years. On a good day I’ll get 50, 000

This is fascinating. I came across your video searching others who have walked a lot of steps for an extended period of time. I’ve been in a school house for the military for the last 30 weeks and have averaged 22, 000 steps a day in that time. Some days clocking in over 45, 000 steps. Seeing your positive reaction and thinking on how having to walk everywhere has positively effected my health, I’m convinced everyone should be walking way, way more than they do now. Movement is life!

I did want to ask how much more you found yourself eating. Personally, I found my self eating almost an entire extra meal’s worth of calories 😅 lots of snacking in the evening.

It’s so sad but as a girl I would be so afraid to walk through wooded desolate areas alone let alone in tight clothes :’( you look great btw
