I started getting active and watching calories in June of 2020 after sitting for the first 3 months of the pandemic. I was already very overweight at the time. But after sitting in quarantine and gaining more weight I just wanted to get out of the house and move. I started with just 20 minute walks. And built slowly from there. It’s been 2 years. And I’m down over 190 lbs. and last month I averaged almost 24k steps a day. When the weather is nice here in Chicago, walking for 3+ hours can be amazing. You commented on one of your earlier fitness videos about making working out like “brushing your teeth” as far as an every day habitual thing, and had stolen the words straight from my personal philosophies had been honing in on. Just wanted to say, I’m feeling a definite kinship with what your up to. Keep it up man.

"We made our smartphones dumb for a month" would be a good title. I'm interested to watch that one!!

I'm literally sitting here not doing work that I need to do because I don't want to do it. Thank you for the kick in the pants!

Honestly a good walk everyday is good for you mentally, reduces anxiety, helps you think and relaxes you 👌

Can confirm walking is awesome exercise 🙌 Started in lockdowns and over time, found myself walking further and further. It helped my mind, my neck pain and general aches from sitting at a desk all day disappeared and I feel so much better. I unintentionally lost about 28lbs over the first 3 months or so and it's kinda stayed at that ever since. It's not something I place much importance in but I guess I'll include it too 😅

I get "sneaky steps" in. So if I have to hang up the Laundry, I'll put it in the furthest point in the room and go back and forth. Same with emptying the dishwasher.

Youve definitely motivated me to do 10, 000 steps a day! I’ve been doing it for the past couple of weeks even being away (with a few exceptions) and am working towards making it an every day habit. Off to go for a walk now :)
Also love the idea of more sustainable challenges, making me want to follow along

Have missed this style of wheezy news video! So calming to listen to.

Walking is great. I started my weight loss journey with just watching my calories and getting my steps in. I was averaging about 10k a day. I took my time and lost the weight slowly over a year. It’s easy on your joints and gives you time to think.

I quit working a "real job" about 30 years ago so I could raise our son, but my husband recently retired and the "O" in "FORD" isn't really a consideration for us anymore! We have planned a lot of travel and activities we want to do.
We also do challenges ... we recently did a "60 Day Habit Changing Challenge" with charts and foil stars and everything, we included "no alcohol" and "walking 3-5 miles a day" in the challenge (mine also included a calorie level for daily eating - the hubs decided to take & record his blood pressure) ... we started Dec. 1st and went thru my birthday, Xmas and New Year's .... with no ill effects. I can't say we felt AMAZING, but we did feel pretty good, so we continued some of those habits for 6 months. We are, of course, not at the "pro" level to which you reach, but we're trying!

about the ravenous hunger when u run is cus u burn energy differently when ur huffing and puffing or in other words when ur body cant get the required oxigen to burn energy efficiently so when it needs more energy it starts to break glucose which is fast and it can do additionally but is way less efficient so it uses a lot so thats why the hunger ramps up.

I would love to get 10, 000 steps in a day, that would be a big goal for me. It's really hard working from home to remember to get up in move. I go to yoga classes and close my rings on my Apple Watch but I'm not actually moving much each day. Props to you for doing 20, 000 holy cow!

I’m in awe you’ve been at it for 28 days. I probably would have slacked off one or two. I was expecting the discussion about weight loss but am curious if you are doing any body measurements before/after. Sometimes the body can change drastically due to muscle change even if weight loss numbers don’t change too much.

My work day has improved since I started leaving my phone in my car and only looking at it during breaks when I walk out to my car.

I can't even imagine having enough time in the day to walk 20K steps. 😅 Keep up the great work!

I get over 20k steps a day when I work. So only 5 days a week, I would not do it every day. Take a break man. <3

if I jump on the trampoline, do they counted as steps?

I often prefer unedited videos, unless I’m after some specific information. Sometimes its hard to process what people say when its fast and heavily edited
