I wish someone had told me this anytime between 1986 and 2022. 36 years of trying to live on calorie deficits. Unsustainable.

I eat once a day. I usually skip 1 day a week. I don't get hungry.
Ever.
I go to the gym 3 times a week.
So far, I'm down 100 pounds.

What's best on carnivore way of life. I eat until I'm full now. If I get hungry, I eat. No guilty feelings.

fasting is so incredible its beyond words. you can start slow. you are already fasting for 8 hours when you sleep. get up, drink water, get sunlight, save coffee for at least 90min after waking to avoid afternoon crash. try eating after noon and just keep pushing it back. work with you doc and get your blood work done to measure. you only have your life to lose.

Who says you have to starve your whole life? Calorie deficits help to lose weight. We are not cattle, we can make a plan and eat in a (slight) caloric deficit for periods without the urge to chew off a limb. People do it all the time.

Being a healthy person doesn’t mean starving oneself.
Fasting is appropriate sometimes but the body needs a natural rhythm of eat and digest. Many very specific diets continue to raise particular problems.

I completely agree, that’s why people who just say “eat less” to those trying to lose wait are infuriating.

However, I won’t say “caloric deficit “ is the problem, you can still be in a caloric deficit whilst still being full.
Eating more protein rich diets provides satiation with lots of veggies that are low calorie instead of carbs .
That way you can eat till you full and still be on a caloric deficit

So true... getting on a low calorie diet does not work. I tried it for 60 years. I was completely convinced that I just had to eat less and exercise more and I lose weight. To be sure, you do, but you are miserable all the time.
What however does work much better, never eat sugar again and cut down on the carbohydrates.
Instead eat steaks, bacon, eggs, fish, dairy as much as you want. You do not even have to exercise at all, but you will lose a lot of weight.
To be sure, you should exercise for different reasons, but it will NOT make you lose weight as long as you keep your unhealthy diet (sugar, carbohydrates)

So why did I lose 45 lb in 6 mo using what I was told was caloric deficit? Upon direction, I averaged the results of 5 websites that, based on my ht, wt, & female, determined how many calories to consume daily to lose my desired wt each week. (I think I also specified an end-date.) I was told stay +/- 100 cal. I was usually 100 cal under. I ate my regular SAD diet and never felt like I was starving myself. Towards the end, after my 3rd re-calcuation of calories, I was noticing which foods kept me fuller for longer periods. It was protein. I switched to Carnivore after reaching what I thought was a reasonable goal weight. In the first six months of Carnivore, I lost another 20 lbs. I'm now at 1 yr, 5 mo Carnivore. My weight has been pretty steady for almost a year. [5'2", 102 lbs, 58 yo]
Addition: With Carnivore, I did stop calorie tracking. I eat when hungry, I don't when not.

You can have calorie deficit without starving, its all about what you choose to eat, the quantity and the amount of times you eat in a day, for example if you lower the carbs consumption to a very low quantity and dose your lunch and dinner, and eat between those two meals small snacks like yougurt, fruit... and train, you gonna lose weight, might take a little longer compared to starvation but its much more stabilized and safe for your body, the results will come just have patience

Calorie deficit does not equal starving yourself. After I had my daughter I lost the 30 pounds of fat I had left thru a calorie deficit. Ate lots of protein fat and carbs. Lifted weights. More whole food, less junk. Took one year. I’m insulin resistant. Stopped the deficit after I lost weight and maintained. gucci

As long as your body has fat on it, it's considered fasting. Starving kicks in when your body no longer has FAT to feed off.

I did a prolonged fast and felt GREAT!! I took electrolytes and vitamins but did not eat. The HARDEST part was the first 5 days...After that, I wasn't hungry and was FULL of energy! 🤩

Had 6 eggs scrambled in butter last night. I felt full and went to sleep. For breakfast today, I had some fajita steak followed by a glass of milk. I feel satisfied and energized 🫡💯

Every month or so I’ll do a prolonged fast. I won’t eat for 4-7 days. I once did a 12 day fast! The truth is your body doesn’t actually need food to function as long as you have fat on your body. It actually functions better in some ways.

Exactly... and a lot of the time, people aren't eating what their body needs specifically as well (even when they think they are eating healthy) and so the need for hunger will continue, because the body is searching for what it needs. Eventually, it will become too much to withstand once reaching a certain point and this is when people tend to "fail". I know, because I have experienced it. Being low carb and pushing animal fats has changed a lot for my body.

Once you get rid of the sugar carb addiction through carnivore you don't get hungry like you used to I feel very satisfied with my new diet😊
