ATTENTION: I had this issue and I found out I put my ps5 upside down. Try flipping your disc and then put it in.

Worked like a charm for me, thanks. Was trying hard to load the ps5 version of elden ring. I have 300+ hours on the game and when i tried to load into the game today it said insert game disc even though the disc was inside the console. Tried this method and it works now!! Thanks alot

Did everything. Still doesn't work. Every disc I enter is unrecognisable. When I enter the discs the ps does some beeping noises, then it sounds like it re- enters the disc again, then the same noises appear until it gives up and the "Disc is unreadable" message plops up. Is that thing really broken or is it maybe dusty and I can somehow clean it ?

Came here thinking the database rebuild would fix my issue and it didn't. I felt hopeless. Out of desperation I decided to flip my ps5 over to vertical and my disc player started making a clicking sound. Turns out my 2 year old daughter had stuck a Lego piece inside the disc slot 😅

Finally!!! I got my PS5 last week on black friday and yesterday i wanted to play detroit become human (disc) but my ps didn't seem to read the game at all. I tried putting in other discs but none were working so i really thought i had to go back to the store with my ps. But rebuilding the database finally worked for me, thank you so much 🙏

My Sims 4 disc has no scratches on it. Every time I load it it gives the error but it won't play unless I rebuild the database every time I load it for it to work. My console is brand new. This is the only game that does not read. It has the latest update and so does my console. Everything works except this disc. I am reinstalling the disc today and seeing if it works. I have also ordered another disc the same just in case.

Question i put a disc in to download but then i took it out and didnt notice till then it had rlly rlly tiny cracks but not enough for it to not read the disc. But after that it just refuses to read any of my other disc i even tried to rebuild database 3 times and did everything but its just not working.

gonna add my 2 cents in, nothing works. save your time, all these posts on reddit and youtube its the samething, make sure its up to date, no dirt on it, they honestly have no clue whats wrong with it, these are basic walkthroughs that will not work, just a couple days ago I was playing ratchet and clank rift apart a few times booted it up worked fine, as of now this comment nothing, no ps4 disc no ps5 disc not even a dvd or blu ray movie works, every time I try its unreadable disc. either its like some people said a software issue or the hard drives have gone out orrrr like apple, new ps5s are coming so an update disabled our hard drives. either way safe mode in every single way did not work, the disc drive just not flippin work. so not sure about this comments or videos or reddit posts but I know one thing... this issues seems to be going on for way past 7 or so months, I have never had an issue with mine (First Gen PS5) so not sure, I'm just so upset and pissed that this thing was soooo over hyped and now problems, cant stand it upwards because of liquid metal, disc drive wont work, no custom wallpaper, no communities anymore, playstation plus price increase, like damn, either bring back beta testers instead of passing the problem on to us or just leave shit alone!! if its working dont mess with success. thats all I got. if anyone figures it out please let me know.

Ps5 was brought in august 23, now December 23 ive managed to download the metal gear solid disc successfully. However ive got 2 new ps5 games literally unwrapped & placed in the correct way & its reading disc error 😒😒

Thank you so much! I just changed the position from flat to standing it works! Like why is this error so common! I've already returned one console for the same reason... Only for it to happen again!
