Hoyo definitely skewed the marketing for ZZZ and it caught players by surprise to realize its 80% tv and 20% combat, and the free pulls while technically free its not outright given but a players needs to grind it out for weeks to get it all.
ZZZ definitely oozes with style and quality that much is true. It is quite a divisive title the first few hours of the game is the make it or break it for many players. And in this case like WuWa they stumbled, in Kuro's case they apologized to players by giving out free stuff thereby earning their placement in the playerbases good graces. In retrospective it seems beta testers have already been vocal about the tv stuff and it was killing the motivation/immersion in the beginning.

Zenless Zone Zero gave me an introspective on Wuthering Waves IMO.

To me, the combat in Wuthering Waves was overshadowed by the complaints upon launch.

Which led me to under appreciate the effort put into the animations and characters.

Now that I played Zenless Zone Zero, I realized that Wuthering Waves has truly set the standard for combat in Gacha games.

These are entirely facts. I love the aesthetics of ZZZ, but Wuthering Waves nailed every aspect 100%. I uninstalled ZZZ after playing the game for a day. The moment I fell asleep during a game is an indication that I wouldn't enjoy it fully.

I just commented somewhere else on the misadvertisement of ZZZ and its "combat focused" game. That's my biggest beef. I'm happy for yall if you like ZZZ and watch ever lil thing Hyv said about it. But I watched the dev video that came out right before launch, the video that should have been the final say on what ZZZ is, and that video vs the reality of the game is just horribly incredibly different.
I don't think WuWa ruined ZZZ. I think Hoyoverse ruined ZZZ lol

Wuwa doesnt ruin other games they just did better, and also is good example to other corp just do better tht about it.

Zzz shill, your only difficulty increase is hp/dmg increase on enemies, no new moves, no new mechanics they just make your "HARD" enemy spongier, what a great design!

For an advertised action game, ZZZ just didn't deliver much in terms of combat, but the game graphics, cutscenes and VA's are top notch. The build up of interest is slow, thats why lots of CN players rate it low.
- In terms of combat quality, it is restricted to few combat mechanics. And I believe they will add the better mechanics in the future in the form of new characters that they will sell which is just too sad and greedy on their part.
- In terms of combat time, most of the time was spent on TV's instead of actual combat and most of it also focuses on too much yapping.
- the launch rewards for limited pulls was mediocre and the advertised 180 pulls is a scam.
- the enemies are literally punching bags even at lvl 30. They just hits harder but the enemy mechanics are still the same.

The game is very good but the devs would need to address this problems in order to make the game better.

The selector on Wuwa was a big deal to magnet players since it gave them a choice. On Zzz I wanted the Victoria team, but instead the rolls gave me Belobog.

When they said ZZZ better than WW because it wasnt buggy and has optimization issue at launched, it actually tells a lot about ZZZ

Also the fact that Hoyo didn't even show TV gameplay in livestream despite majority of gameplay revolve around TV is telling a lot about the game

I don't hate zzz enough to completely deinstall it, but it doesn't captivate me enough for me to take it seriously enough to invest in it, with time or money. It'll just be that thing I play every now and then.

Hoyo does not give a single fuck about players. The likelihood of them giving more generous rewards to the player base is lower than their shitty 5star drop rates.

Man, I love the charm and expressive animations and details the game has! Yet it hurts me to see that the gameplay is much more stale and snorefest and the story doesn't help when it's still mid....😢

I deleted it... But I'll return to it when Miyabi is released or I hear the combat is becoming more fun than button mash only.

For me one thing is the huge file size on pc. So i ended up having to download it on ny lhone instead.

I uninstalled the game after 30mins of playing. Yes, they got something to offer but I hate the UI of the game. Plus, the battle isn't that compelling to me which also made me quit Genshin before. I guess this game is just not for me.

PS. I hate bubbly characters and i find them a bit childish.

Combat focused game from the biggest game company in the world. Its to be expected. HSR is amazing, and they know how to make combat game from HI3 experience. The stars are aligned with ZZZ. Expectation is through the roof. Maybe this akin to No Man Sky or Cyberpunk situation. They'll have to fix things slowly....or not.

im not a person that is quite hype about new games, i generally dont watch trailers until the game is released, on day 1 i pretty much didnt expect anything. as a working guy, i dont have that much time to play games after work.

if you play the pace the developers intend you to play them, wuthering waves feel pretty great, end game content at day 1 it released but honestly it was too many content for me, for someone who does not have alot of time for such games, coming back from work and looking at the list i need to do in WuWa is quite demoralizing,

ZZZ altough quite slow, alot of talking and TVs, the pace of it i did enjoy with the little time i had after work compared to WuWa, since there was not really an endgame content upon release i didnt really need to rush things to clear so i could get the rewards before they reset (its not about i dont have time for them as it was much more of i dont have time to ENJOY the game properly)

i will eventually reach endgame in WuWa, just not as fast as other people, as long i get to enjoy

I wish Hoyo would just go back to HI3rd's gacha system. Same 90 pity but 1.5 rates, no 50/50 and u can craft stigs now and they dont resrt pity
