Just a small rant. I keep hearing CCs hating on the TV section of the game. So I want to share MY view of the TV, or the HDD system in the game, which is basically a form of dungeon crewling.

I agree with you that ZZZ's HDD Hollow board system is an essential part of the game to making the gameplay feel less monotone and allows them to focus more of their time into the cutscenes and fluid animation they are praised for in game and other media. I personally thought it was fun and creative how they used it in the story, like the train in the tv board. In the recent cbt, it seems like they have longer portioned of action and running around the instanced battles areas with some investigation in Hollow Zero. Collecting bits and pieces of lore items like audio files around Hollow Zero that are charming as well and the arcade like aspect of it blends well with the old school, urban aesthetic they are going for. The optional puzzles in tv mode for me when playing were a nice change of pace sometimes. I also found myself doing more combat towards getting to later levels in the game rather than tv section once you learn the ins and out of the icons in the Hollow. With this said, I do think they can add some optional cosmetics or aesthetic items like different colored board than what is present or being able to choose a different Bangboo you have obtained through gacha for Hollow exploration if you have it favorited. Things like that can give players more control over how their board looks and adds personality to the Hollow section in a rather monotone grey and black environment and because Bangboos are their marketable minions that they should take advantage of in game. I also think some Icons and descriptions can be simplified in the tv section to streamline the gameplay. I am interested to see what content they may add to the Hollow Board like co-op dungeon crawling or player created Hollow Boards and how they will continue to improve it for future events in the game.

hard disagree. It's like the game is 60% TV screens, 30% Overworld exploration as Wise or Belle, and the remaining 10% is combat where you actually get to enjoy using your summoned characters. Why do i even pull on these S rank characters if i only get to play as them during combat which when you consider the entire game is only but a fraction of the entire experience? In Genshin going all the way to 90 pulls is fully justified because you do quests, explore, fight and pretty much do anything using your summoned characters. Same in starrail. In ZZZ on the other hand is the exact opposite as you barely even get to use your characters because the game is more concerned flashing you with epileptic images in the TV sections or making you slog through the overworld than actually allow you to use characters that you paid for. ZZZ has no business pushing the hard pity so high because of it. It should be 50 at absolute most.

In my opinion, It's basically dungeon crawler. So I don't really mind.

this game feels like a worse version of persona. zzz tried the persona 5 phantom thief approach with the life simulator/fighting slpit but they didn’t really grab me like p5 did. i hope they change the tv maze and make it so you can just move around the map with your character like in persona5 with the tv system as a optional map where you can teleport to the place u been to.

honestly i don't see why there is so much critique of the TV system even now; post CBT3. if you plan to play ZZZ long term, then you shouldn't worry sbout the TV's being mundane because they mostly won't even exist in late game. as for players who will be playing ZZZ for a breif period, there is even less reason to worry.

I loved the TV mode in cbt 2. i think it looks cool in general and imo, it's a better version of the OG sim universe HSR launched with. it's more similar to something like sim U gold and gears. but i understand why some people hated it in cbt 2. it was indeed not perfect cbt 3 tho basically fixed it by just rebalancing the amount you engage with it and adding 2x speed which was needed i agree. that's what betas are for. but i can't see the ZZZ without TVs like some want. TVs are literally part of the game's identity. it's in the art, the story, the lore, the promo, everything. removing TVs from ZZZ is just childish. overall, it's a subjective thing. some will love it. some will dislike it. it's ok. not every game is made for you after all.

Obviously some players like the TV system so i wouldn't suggest removing it. IMO all it really needs is a skip button so that me and other players that don't like it wouldn't have to endure it. They could add a story summary paragraph so that people skipping it wouldn't miss out too much on story. In the end it doesn't really matter, there's tons of other good games out there to play

i agree with CCs, the TV section just took way too much time.
every gameplay that has TV section feels like you spend 4 mins on the TV section and only 1 min on the actual combat.

I think it would work better if they used a first-person dungeon crawler like in some Shin Megami Tensei games. It would make it more immersive because we could see the Hollow world and interact with it. Also, it probably wouldn't cost as much to make compared to creating a full 3D map.

If the player is going 'yay, more combat' - that's a good thing. But the hard part is always going to be the inverse - getting people excited about linear tv sections. You're right that having pauses between combat makes those action moments all the more rewarding, but the criticism of the tv sections on their own are warranted. Finding ways to bolster their value for long term success is, in my opinion, pretty vital to making sure people don't drop zzz. And I think all of this 'hate' boils down to one glaring problem, which is undeniable: The tv sections aren't in marketing material. It's understandable to assume frustration when the product being showcased, primarily a squad based fighter with combat zones, is quite different from what ZZZ actually is.

personally, I think the TV labyrinth system makes the game worse, it doesn't add anything to the story and in fact (IMHO) makes it more forgettable and unremarkable

If Tv system can't make everyplayer enjoy it's a bad gameplay mechanic for sure

For me i'm okay.. but it's so boring and pointless. All gameplay is just tv 90% and fight 10% sometimes i wondering hoyoverse just want to make tv game but they know no one will play it so they add a little fight part to sells their gacha

Face it dude, majority rules. The vast majority of people have some form of dissatisfaction with the game and the primary culprit is the TV system. Personally, I'm extremely neutral towards them. They exist. I do not enjoy it, nor do I dislike it. But it's very clear that if they don't remove it, the game will suffer in the long run.

The only time where people seem to enjoy the TV system is when it genuinely has an impact on combat.
