How to Get Enough Protein | Raw Food Diet

A lot of people wonder about getting enough protein on a raw food diet. There's also a little bit of a myth that you need massive amounts of protein in your diet.

You definitely need protein, but one of the easiest ways to get protein is green, leafy vegetables. Things like spinach, charred kale, broccoli, are all very high in protein, but you just have to eat more of it. That's the only catch. They're actually higher in protein, per calorie count, than beef. So, you just need to eat a good amount.

One way is to put it in a smoothie, or just have large salads everyday. Make sure you have one great big salad full of greens. So that's one way to get protein.

Another good way to get protein is seeds. Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds are very high in protein. So you're going to get lots of great absorbable protein, too. Unlike meat, which can get caught in your intestines because there's not enough fiber to push it through, with seeds and nuts, you're getting their natural fiber and you're going to not only get the protein, but you're going to digest it better than typically you're going to digest animal products.

While you need to consider how much protein you're getting, it's not that hard to find raw sources of protein like nuts, seeds, and leafy greens.

I'm learning a lot about how to change my nutrition, I'm still eating "normally" lots of meat and stuff like that... But I really want to change, I just need to be better informed and learn how to make meals, because when I change, I want to change for good. I may still eat meat, like once or twice a month, but it will be as a part of my nutrition, I'm not going full vegan or full fruitarian, I'm going to mix it up so I can have a lot of variety and still eat a little bit of everything.

Yes I know and I appreciated you answering me (: I want to eat healthier but I'm not going to confine myself because I want to just eat whatever I want while still being healthy xD

Are concerned about staying healthy or not being confined or both? Every single food can be made vegan and you get all of the nutrients you need from a vegan diet. In fact, research shows less deficiencies in vegans as compared to those who eat meat. Just trying to help you make an informed decision.

May I ask your reasons for not going vegan?

I just want to eat whatever I want while staying healthy, I don't want to confine myself, but I will eat much less meat and my diet will be mostly vegan/fruitarian but I'll eat a bit of everything. My concern is really my health, not animal cruelty and such, though that is something that I'm aware exists but it's not me not eating meant that's going to change anything, I'll eat meat once in a while xD Though I think after a while I'll stop liking it xD

This preoccupation of protein is complete nonsense.

Or you could simply adhere to a normal, balanced diet wtithout being at risk of developing nutritional deficiencies like a lot of people who advocate their "raw food" diet.
Eating healthy doesn't require you to go on some sort of freak diet that's completely inconsistent with a normal lifestyle.

By the way, our stomach can process cooked food better than raw food nowadays. Thanks, evolution.
