He's not talking about how you feel. He's talking about losing weight, whether water weight or unhealthy, he's right. A deficit is a deficit.

I think Sam was just speaking purely on the weight loss. Like yeah you’re gonna feel like absolute shit on a donut only diet and lacking healthy nutrients. But if you’re eating only 1, 000 calories and burning 2500 a day, you’ll lose weight. A lot of muscle too but the scale will go down. I think that’s the point he was trying to make.

Bro looks upset about what sam is saying, then says the exact same thing.

Calories are an umbrella term for macros nutritionally. Its just a measurment for how your body will burn the food and its hardly accurate and companies find ways to lie about calories.

Your fitness goals dont end with weight.

Your body will go diabetic if youre eating 2000 colories worth of donuts daily.

If you leave out certain vitamins you will have terrible side effects like scurvy without Vitamin C.

Nutrition is not that hard.

The part some people misunderstand is that 1000 calories of doughnuts and 1000 calories of salad will (mostly) impact your weight gain/loss the same, but 1000 calories of doughnuts is much more dense. It’s easier to eat more because it takes less space in your stomach. This works in reverse too, if you limit yourself to just chicken and veggies while trying to bulk it’s going to be a serious challenge because eating 4000 calories of low-density foods is just going to be spatially difficult.

Sam's talk about this saved me a lot of stress. Sometimes in the beginning I'd hit a speed bump and not even think about the fact that I'm consuming too many calories in a wasteful way until it was too late. So I'd just slow down my eating and possibly skip my next meal. On the whole I eat healthily and get way more exercise, but it helped get rid of The guilt while I got my own self control and discipline under control.

I’ve lost 65 pounds doing this and yeah, he’s right about the deficit you can eat whatever as long as you stay under, but will definitely feel like crap

These two videos go well TOGETHER to get the point across. The quality of your calories should never be excluded when explaining calories in vs calories out!

Reason a lot fail on a weight journey is because they were always taught you have to jump straight into eating healthy and to throw away what makes you happy. They eventually buckle, eat their unhealthy foods and quit the diet all together. Then they blame the weight gain on eating unhealthy, when in reality you were losing weight due to a caloric deficit. You can have your" happy foods " and lose weight, just up your protien and keep your daily calories to 500 below your caloric maintenance level. Guarantee you'll drop a pound a week...and not have to eat primarily healthy struggle foods. Personally I alternate so I can get all my macros in.

the people that say you'll gain weight if you only eat 1000 calories worth of donuts, i don't think they realize that 1000 calories worth of donuts in a day, is like 5 donuts max in a whole day. you are not gonna feel full at any point in the day unless you eat those 5 in 1 sitting. and then around 12 you'll be hungry the rest of the day.
