In this clip from The Macro Show this morning, Hedgeye CEO Keith McCullough and Director of Research Daryl Jones discuss a subscriber’s observation that BofA’s Chief Investment Strategist Michael Hartnett turned “tactically bullish” and is expecting a big market bounce.

“You know why Hartnett went bullish?” McCullough explains. “Because the S&P 500 got above the 50-day moving monkey.”

“Talking heads have talking points,” he adds. “This is not my first rodeo. And no, I don’t give two $#@! what Michael Hartnett thinks.”

Ignoring a signal that is being followed by 99% of market participants as a determinant of the primary trend is stupid. It has way more ability to make you money than following the “volume “ as KM does
