Thank you. What a common struggle, we all need to share information. I would like to see a synthetic AC ligament developed that mimics the natural ligament. I know the Dunn weaver technique can help, but imho, anything that's screwed into the bone will deteriorate with motion. That's why bicep tendon surgery doesn't do well long term, some orthopedic surgeons have got on YouTube and said that point blank, people are in and out of shoulder surgery for life. Shoulder replacement isn't a destination anyone wants. Your a tough guy, cheers.

Get it fixed. I injured my shoulder thirty years ago and regret not having surgery.

had stage 3or 5. had the surgery w the cadaver hamstring. No pain whatsoever. The surgery isn't bad. They knocked me out.

Don’t get surgery and the muscle on the injured side might have shortened or taken different shape during. I hurt my quad and it looked different than my other one after healing

I suffered a low grade 3 AC separation a week and half ago. Saw ortho specialist who recommended no surgery due to a low success rate (50%) with the surgery. Suggested stabilization and rest for a few weeks, then revisit and start managed PT.

I am curious how someone else with a grade 3 separation ended up after competent PT.

Thanks for the update. Very helpful. I opted for surgery after 8 months of grade 3 ac sep. I tried conservative approach and it was going great till about 6 months and then I tore anterior deltoid and it hurt like crazy and was just too unstable after that. I am week 3 after surgery. 2 fiber tapes and dog bones with 2 allograft tendons for biological repair. 6 -8 weeks in a huge pillow abduction sling. Then months of PT. Hope the help someone. My bump is gone and it finally stables again.

Hey I'm new to the injury....got it from a skate board accident. Looks like your healing good. I also don't want the operation. Sounds like you got all your strength back. Keep up with it .
