A-C Joint Separation (non surgical)

Показать описание
Not all A-C joint separations need to be treated surgically. In this video, you will see a gentleman who had a motorcycle accident and had a severe AC joint separation. With progressive rehabilitation, scapular strengthening, rotator cuff strengthening, and ultimately functional retraining he was able to regain full range of motion and strength.

I dislocated mine 7 years ago, and decided not to undergo surgery. I had no problem doing daily tasks, except for sleeping on my bad side. At gym, all shoulder/chest exercises had to be readapted to my new reallity. Pain was always there, and the cracking sounds on every repetition was terrible. Even though, I never stopped working out, until the day I went to the doctor and took an X-ray to see how things were going. Had bone spurs all around my clavicle, and they were beginning to damage surroundind tissue. I decided to had surgery after all these years, and was the best choice of my life. My shoulder is now completely stabilized after going through two endobuttons with tight rope technique and I regained all my strenght and mobility as before.

I have mild separation in my right ac joint. Will it heal on its own? Like fully heal? The hospital just put me in a sling and told me to give it a few weeks. And not to lift anything heavy.

My shoulder looks exactly this, I have perfect range of motion and no noticeable loss in strength compared to my good shoulder, how ever I get a lot of pain the joint when sleeping or after hard excersies and my shoulder feel incredibly tight
Any suggestions?

Could I lift weights/ work out to get my muscle back in my arm after this injury? Would martial arts be completely out of the picture now?

I have a 3rd degree separation. I am working in front lever, muscle ups and hand stand pushups. As I progress the joint is becoming more stable but I wonder how much faster I would progress with surgery?

If I have this raised bump, no pain, no limited range of motion, full mobility but it was sore for a day or two, was it really bad or maybe just a sprain?

I'm 60 and this happened 20 years ago you will never be the same with out Surgery. I am at best 50 percent on my bad side and, now arthritis is setting in. Prolonged exercise and therapy only makes it worse.
