"Don't feel pressured to ever get over your grief, just focus on expanding your life around it." Wow. Life changing thought. Thank you.

After a coworker passed we had a grief therapist brought in. He told us the 2nd year is the hardest. The 1st year you're in a state of shock as you go through the steps of grief like Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, his birthday, etc. But the 2nd year you feel the grief even more. I had lost my dad and was coming up on the 2nd year. The therapist was right. The shock wore off and the grief of our loss was stronger. Don't ever let anyone tell you how to feel or how long your grief will last. My dad died in 2002 and I still miss him.

I like the concept that the grief doesn't get smaller but rather life expands. I had never thought about it that way. Thankyou

When my son passed away my Dad told me "It will never hurt less, it just hurts less often."

I really needed this today. I'm 14 and my dad died from cancer when I was 8. Soon I will have spent most of my life without him. On Father's day I would always celebrate my grandpa, but he died right before Christmas due to a heart attack. This is my first father's day where I don't have anyone to celebrate and I never will again. I really needed to hear this today, Thank you!❤

When my grandmother passed away we were all grieving. Years later we were talking about it and my mother said: "The grief never goes away. You just grow around it."

I loved my grandmother very much, but losing her was nothing compared to losing my mother just mere years later. Changed my life completely.

It's been three years and though I am doing better, the pain still feels fresh.

Thank you for this. I needed this. I lost my Dad unexpectedly on June 10, 2021 and it still hurts the same to this day. On the morning he passed I was in my kitchen washing dishes and I seen a full figured light fly up and then down my stairs. An hour later on our way to San Diego I received a call from his Sister telling me he had just passed about an hour ago. He was supposed to come visit me at my new home the weekend after he passed so I believe he made the visit but just in spirit.

I really needed this, I lost my grandma in 2021 to more then one reason. And she was, my rock she was the reason I started being an artist. Shortly after, my grandpa moved in. And he slowly, became a rock for me. He moved out around January 2022, and march 17 (a day after my grandmas birthday) he passed away in, the softest way in his sleep. It’s been stopping me, to do things I love like paint color etc. I’ve finally started, doing things I love and things I’d do with them. But I still have days, where I don’t wanna get out of bed. And all I wanna do is cry.

I lost my dad to cancer 2 years ago when I was 13 and hearing grief talked about this way really helped me understand the emotions Im going through. Fathers day and all the holidays will always be hard but understanding the emotions makes it less scary.

My nan just went in hospice care on Monday, she has cancer. It's unlikely she's gonna make it through the week but it's lovely to see her still around. She is 73. Rip in advance nanny...
Edit: She passed away Friday the 28th of July. R.I.P. Nanny, I loved you. Her funeral is this Friday idk what the date is.
Edit: The funeral was the first one ive ever been to, it was obviously heartbreaking but it went well.

This brought tears, I needed this. My grief is a different kind, losing my house to a tornado 20 months ago. What makes it harder was it was my grandmother’s house that I bought 2 years after she passed, and was 1 day away from moving in when I lost it. It’s wasn’t just a house, it was my second home. It felt like losing my grandmother all over again. We rebuilt in the same location, and this spring, our first spring in the new house, my granny’s daffodils came up and bloomed beautifully. Every time they bloom, I tell myself that it’s my granny visiting me.
