As a fitness professional who is post menopausal & who works with menopausal women…YOU ARE CORRECT. Too much cardio is the kiss of death for healthy, sustainable fat loss! Build muscle for strength, balance and also target flexibility🤷🏽‍♀️

I am a 53 year old woman and I felt like something was wrong with me because I have not been able to work out and get that burst of energy that I use to. I actually began to totally dislike working out until I stumbled on to you. I thank you so much for explaining what is happening and teaching me how to work out enjoy working out again. The fat that I have gained is actually coming off now. Thank you so much.

This was the BEST information and instructions with examples I've heard. Thank you! I'll be 51 on the 24th of this month. This will give me some structure I need. Now I'll know what to do. Thanks again Melissa 😊🥰🙏

Excellent video and information, thank you for sharing! Yes, I agree with everything you say and can add a testimonial...I'm 51 and have changed my routine to HIIT 30 minutes and strength training for 30 minutes 3 days a week. I've increased my daily movements with some fun free-style dance or Yoga on the other days or a simple walk with my dog. My HIIT class has three different levels of intensity (low, base, high) so I can adjust my moves based on my energy and amount of sleep I was able to get the night before. Each week for the past three months I have seen a 1lb weight lose each week and positive changes in my body, mind and spirit. Hope this helps and encourages others that physical movement, even just 30 minutes, and good eating habits can help us as we go through this change in life.

We lose so much muscle at this time as it is, you are right!! Fat is metabolically inactive and muscle is active!! Menopause causes such a drop in estrogen, it affects everything, what was once effortless takes actual efforts!!

I’m 47 and menopausal. This explains why I haven’t had luck doing cardio for the last year-I thought I had to lose fat first 😭😭😭😭She is SO RIGHT! I was gaining weight😩😩 Thank you Melissa ❤️

At 55 and going through menopause right now, my body and my mental are state are really taking me through so many changes it's scary!! Even with taking hormone replacement therapy, I'm still struggling with many symptoms of menopause. Your videos are really inspiring me to continue exercising and do what works for me since my body is changing. Thank you Melissa! 💞

It's true. With age cardio is not doing the same work. Thanks for explaining.

I’m going through the change now, and I’m so discouraged after months at the gym with no results. I’m so glad the algorithm sent this video I almost feel hopeful.

I watched one of your videos similar to this about a year ago. I started using apple fitness for the strength work outs. They do everything you say to do. The HIIT workouts they have are a little intense for my knees, so I do their cycling workouts which I find are just like you said: interval workouts. I only do the cycling about once every one or two weeks because it sweats my hair out really bad. But I’ve lost 70 lbs! No strict dieting either. Just added more protein. I’m 45, married, with two kids. The strength training works!

I wish, when I went on weight watchers 4 years ago, that I had started strength training. I had 40 or more pounds to lose and as successful as I was, I ended up with sagging skin and only looked best with clothes on! Eek! I started at age 52 and post menopausal. I’m 56 now, use weights more than cardio and slowly seeing progress and my skin is filling out and I believe a little shrinking back to a semi acceptable appearance. I need more muscle to fill it out and burn the remaining fat I have an excess of. I’m glad I found you Melissa! You will help me achieve my goals, gratefully ✨♥️✨

I love this lady I found her 2 days ago her advice is the opposite of what I have been told I’ve been doing it wrong for years!

Thank you Melissa! I really needed to hear this today! I am 56, a former body building competitor, and have been teaching group fitness for over 30 years. My exercise program has worked for me over the years. However, my mid section (abdominal area) has been a huge concern . I never had an issue in this area (even after having 2 children and 2 "C" sections) until now!
Your videos, professionalism, advice, and body to prove it is so refreshing! I have hope and look forward to following your guidelines and fitness advice. Thank you so much ! You are truly a blessing and inspiration or women over 40 and 50! A breath of fresh air!👏🏿♥️♥️
May you continue to prosper and grow!

Thanks for the reminders, Melissa! One of the things I like about menopause is I'm actually off the hook for so ding-danged much cardio. 🤣

This was so helpful and true. I agree 💯 Love all of your videos. Yes!!! You have to listen to your body. I do that now. If I need a rest day. I take it. The body does need rest especially while going through menapause. I love strength exercise, low intensity and a lot of walking. That has really helped. And don't overdo it Thank you for sharing! with cardio. Sending you, Melissa and everyone here love and light.❤️❤️🙏🙏☮️☮️
