He acts all the ways you describe, but even before I started to rationally try to make sense of his behaviour, my intuition was telling me he is REALLY interested in me. My intuition can't be lying, because it usually says the opposite of this about the vast majority of guys who leave me wondering about their behaviour.

The problem is that all of these shy behaviours make it IMPOSSIBLE to establish a connection, no matter what I try to do. How do you want me to smile at him if he turns away before I can establish eye contact? How do I say hello to him if he literally runs away when I walk his way? How do I engage with him if after I do say hello he bolts?

I need you to tell me how I can bring him to be brave (this is about confronting his fears) and sustain just enough eye contact or interaction to feel a wee bit more comfortable next time.

I think he feels intimidated by me. I am a foreigner in his country, and the women are NOT like me around here. These women make themselves dependent of men all the time, like they aren't allowed to exist without their approval, whereas I am completely independent, straight up, and even my natural body language says that I give exactly zero ducks. But also, I am pretty sure my body language changes around him and he can feel my interest in him just as much as I can feel his, only he doesn't trust it. The local manual on how to deal with attraction doesn't apply to me, and he knows it, so he is in the dark about how to deal with this, because he doesn't know the code from where I am from. But I know the local code, I have been living here for two and a half years.

OMG you completely described this cute guy I met this weekend! He looked at me several times but would just walk over and stand by guys next to me instead of talking directly to me. He talked to other girls though. Finally after I talked to him several times he said bye to me.

Hello Tiye Harris. I am quite shy (trying to push myself out of my comfort zone though) and the guy I have a crush on also seems shy. Some things I’ve noticed:
-when I said hi to him, he
seemed nervous and didn’t make great eye contact but still responded hey quietly.
-we’ve made eye contact a few times from afar (only for 1-2 seconds)
-when we passed by each other he lowered his eyes
-we are co-workers in a store. When I call for price checks he comes up really fast and always comes up. Some people do not come up at all. Or not that quickly like he does.
-I was standing at the til and he passed by and when I looked his way, he looked the other way really quickly. This happened twice.

Years ago I had a dream where I thought God told me my husband's name.
I went away at a Christian festival recently. I met a man with that name.. turns out he's on the worship band in my church & we only got the chance to hang out miles away from home.
He's super super super shy.
We were inseparable right away.. we are meeting next week, as we r both away with the church in totally different places...
