As adults we tend to forget that things like that truly matter when you're that age. While it _is_ important to teach children that the world won't always go their way, you should be careful to not to dismiss their concerns out of hand. You should also pick your battles. While her shoes getting wet won't kill her, picking her up won't kill _you._ Oh and she has a good brother.

My daughter was mid-yelling at her brother when a plate dropped and shattered on the floor. He was barefoot. She didn't even stop yelling when she immediately picked him up and carried him out of the kitchen without missing a beat. Yelled the whole way into our sitting room. Set him down on the chair and continued her yelling. It was the funniest and sweetest thing I've ever seen. Fighting like cats and dogs and she saved his feet from broken shards. Kids are literally the best. ♥️
