The same reason why fire force author and even kaguya sama author are retiring, the burden of weekly manga is grueling and as u said if their story doesn't follow jump standard they are wrecked.
Although kaguya sama author said that he'll only be providing stories and won't do any more art himself which is understandable.

I mean they killed all the main characters so they need someone to focus on that isnt the MC. Part 2 is still good just feels slow as right now the MC isn't the focus and it is coming of the heels or Denji fight with the control devil so its fine right now. Also I cant wait till Denji finds the blood devil we need power back ;-;
