Excellent info, Kait. I typically eat OMAD. That meal is always 30+ grams of protein with avocado and no carbs. If I do have a second meal, it's full fat Greek yogurt with chocolate protein powder and organic blueberries. I also like sauteeing sweet potatoes in avocado oil. Season with cinnamon and garlic powder with a touch of cayenne, then chill them in the fridge for a few days with some blueberries and serve on the side 3-4 Pasture-raised eggs and a grass-fed patty. Those is exactly how I've been thinking. If a person is generally "healthy".. no medical issues, but just want to get healthier.. A change in amount of carbs.. when and how eating carbs.. choosing carbs that aren't terrible. I even have no problem with a celebratory cheesecake at a holiday, as long as I eat low carb 85-90 % the rest of the time. Educating folks on what is in our food.. the terrible oils, the additives, the hormones.. changing to non processed foods is a better way to get Americans healthier.

I like saving my carbs for lunch or dinner. I take a 4pm hot yoga class so whatever carbs I may have eaten during lunch are burned off and then some. If I have them for dinner instead, I’ll jump on my stationary bike for 30 mins while watching tv.

I am so insulin resistant that I eat about 5 g carbs daily just to keep my BG around 130.

Is keto ok for the kidneys? I mean I can see my kidneys have been affected by my diabetes, so I thought keto would help.

I thought carbs and fat together raises insulin? Carbs and fat may lower glucose spike but it raises insulin from what I’ve understood
