If we all paid just a bit more, we could avoid most animal suffering – often just for a few cents per meal. What would it truly cost us to avoid animal torture and still eat meat?

Thanks for covering this topic. Im a pescatarian and thanks for being non judgemental towards meat eaters, people will be more likely to hear the message if they dont feel judged. If its possible please cover seafood too, similar to your message on mussels which analysed their lack of central nervous system. It would be very helpful for those who dont eat red meat but eat fish and prawns etc, for us to make a better judgement and to come to a middle ground on our consumption of various meats

The issue is not the higher cost of meat itself but the lack of assurance that this expense drives meaningful change. The inability to trace the production process adds to the concern. A straightforward solution would be implementing stricter regulations and oversight. If such measures were in place, most people would likely be willing to pay more, knowing they are contributing to a collective effort for a justifiable cause

I would GLADLY pay the small increases in price for better animal conditions. The problem comes with the whether the companies/farms would ACTUALLY implement the improvements or just lie and charge more without doing anything.

I love living in a small city in germany because i can just hop on my bike, drive 3km to the butcher that has his own animals no more than 5km away on a random ass patch of grass with a small barn next to it and buy enough meat for a family of 4 for a week + some jummy steaks and sausages for the weekend.




And the meat tastes 3000% better than any of the meat i could buy at the local supermarket.
