The size of the shark is the reason why I don't go swimming at the beach anymore. I believe they get a lot closer than we think.

Magnificent beasts, I’m an ex Military & Police diver. I have dived since 1972, I have only ever been in the water with one Great White, incredible experience but frightening, especially because we were spearfishing.
We were in deco at 5m, it made three passes at us, each time turning side on & doing another lap.
There such a huge powerful shark.

Whatching this shark tear apart that fish food in slow motion combined with its size and its sheer brutal nature, really pumps up the fright factor of being far out in the open ocean. You just never know what kind of giant predatory animal happens to be in your general vicinity. With all that being said, The ocean will always remain as a terrifying place.
