Brudge Shark Sighted in Lofoten, Norway || ViralHog

We were two families out fishing for Salmon in our boat. Suddenly, we noticed a shark coming towards us. We understand that it was a brugde.

For those who don't know, this is a basking shark. They call it a brudge shark in Norway.

Knowing it's a basking shark is reassuring but it's scary how similar it looks to a Great White.

Use to see these (basking shark) all the time in the Gulf of Maine. They are absolutely huge and look like a predator but are mainly plankton feeders.

Thank you to those people explaining that this is a basking shark because I hadn't heard the other name before.
It's incredible how fast this shark was travelling, I thought they slowly float along. Thank goodness they aren't man eaters!

I love Basking Sharks. So Impressive to see and even more impressive to be around. These beauts end up dwarfing the great white sometimes, have been lucky enough to share some water with one of these in the English channel a few years back. There was a moment exactly like this, although I didn't know it was a basking until it was almost under me.... Yes... Filled my pants abit too
