I always come back to this video because it is probably the most intense encounter someone can experience. When that shark emerges from the darkness and is coming fast and straight to the guy... that has to be the most terryfing moment this guy has experienced. It terrifies me and I am here behind my screen. Can't imagine being there.

I couldn’t imagine what it’s like swimming at the top of the water knowing a great white is underneath you. They attack from below, you’re more vulnerable at the surface, but you also gotta take the risk to get out of the water.

Someone commented on a different shark video on Youtube saying "I have a great and mutual understanding with sharks. I stay out of the water and they stay out of my backyard".
I am in complete agreement with that wise understanding.

As a diver, the scariest time in the water is when you're on the surface with your head up. Almost being attacked by a 13ft Great White in Santa Barbara was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life.
