A lot of people can't seem to do it. How do you forgive yourself when you did something terrible, they ask. Part of the answer is being able to learn from our mistakes.

As human beings, we are going to make mistakes and when we fear that, we stop ourselves from some of the success that's available to us. Failing is part of the success process and by acknowledging, understanding and accepting this, that will put us in position to be forgiving of ourselves.

Can you forgive yourself for making mistakes?

I don't know how I can forgive my younger self knowing I caused harm and trauma to some people, including myself.

Pride is so sneaky! It gets in there and becomes part of your personality so you don't even know it's there. I was one way then I forgave myself and now I feel like a new person!

I infected my mother with Covid.. because I was careless.. She suffered a lot and got weak.. She's already old.. I'm repenting and crying everyday as I made her life so hard.. how did this happen when I love her so much.. the thought of losing her haunts me every moment.. I seek forgiveness..

If the mistakes are big enough, sometimes there’s no recovering. The older you are the harder as well.

I ended my first relationship.i just messed everything and ended by hurting the person.just because i was scared about the future and i thought he won't be able to give me a good life.and im guilty for hurting him and judging him financially

That was really helpful. I've never thought of it that way. I guess it's the old disciplining yourself not to be a loser thinking that backfires. If you can't forgive yourself for failing, you're just gonna be afraid to try anything and blame yourself even more in the end. It's a catch 22. Still trying to figure this out. I think it's hard to unlearn this for people who haven't been allowed to fail or who have learned that failure gets you hard consequences or punishments. This was a refreshing perspective. Thank you!

Stealing from my job was the worst mistake that I ever made in my life so now I am suffering no money and I can’t do anything I wanted to do when I was working I should had been more contious of my job then stealing but I am going to forgive myself for that mistake and not do it again
