This really made me cry so hard, I’ve spent so much time hating the younger version of myself. And the mistakes I’ve made, I’m trying to work on healing that part of me. I am so glad I saw this, I really needed to hear this.

I knew better but I didn't do better. Those are my regrets.

Totally agree. If we didn't make those mistakes then, we wouldn't be persons we are today.

I'm pretty sure my younger self knew better. I just didn't care. That's what bothers me.

You shouldn't punish someone young for dumb mistakes, you should just let them know they made a mistake, them going thru the period of regret will be punishment enough.

Exact same thing my therapist told me 3 years ago. This way I can tell you know what you are talking about. Keep it up.

This made me cry. I have been so hard on myself lately about decisions that I made in the past that maybe would have set me on a different path. Seeing people my age and where they are at in life compared to myself is hard 😢 I learn everyday not to judge myself based on what my younger self did / didn't do.

Now this is incredible! I talked about this to my nearly 18 y old daughter this afternoon! I had a rough childhood and was always remembering what happened, but lately I had an epiphany that what happened was not my responsibility as I was a child.. I forgave my parents as they did what they knew and could.. and I’m deciding to stop torturing myself by bringing up what happened! I can’t change the past but I can change how I feel about it! It’s not an overnight transformation as I’ve been working on it for a few years, yet I’m so glad my mindset changed about my life as a child! Thanks for the great work you do!

This is awesome. Why don't they ever explain it as simply as this? They always say "the past is in the past" which is not enough. Yeah like I know it's in the past, but I could never get out of it. But this made it finally click! Just a simple perspective!

I needed to hear this. I punish myself because of childhood trauma. I am a great person and treat others kindly but when it comes to me I would never talk down to a friend like how talk down to myself.

Very true❤. Wisdom comed with age. We all make mistakes, just learn from them and we can then do better in the future❤

Nope . I was a really weak and brain dead person, i didn't speak ever in last 9 yrs if my school lyf.
My bestfriend assaulted me by always peeking in washroom stall multiple times ehile i went in and when i came out she would say ohh i saw u were wearing _, then once i caught her peeking in she said u can't hide from me i saw everything i stayed quiet and said to myself oh leave it, when i accidentally hurt them and apologized too they wouldn't talk to me until 3 days. But i had no seld respect when it comes to me i always say nothing, never mention my boundaries never respect myself. A self resoect ridden individual
A friend was jealous of me so i cut her off when i cut her off i didn't even gave her a valid reason to break up i just said don't contact me ever i won't talk you.
She involved another ex toxuc friend with her and told ger blatant lies and both were calling be backstabber and cheater in class . I stayed quiet.

I always stayed quiet cause of my innocence, dumbness, inability to say no, my people pleasing tendencies, my social anxiety, shy, introverted, and fear psychosis .

I reget my whole existence. Always stayed quiet. Was never straightforward and bold. I stayed queit that's why people torture me more thunking this girl wouldn't speak up so we will do anything to her.
