Top Five Arch-Based Linux Distros 2022

I love Arch Linux and Arch-based Linux distributions, mainly because of the software availability and the rolling release model. I have looked at dozens of Arch-based distros over the years, but what do I consider the top five Arch-based distros?

I've been on EndeavourOS Cinnamon for 13 months. It's so stable & reliable it's boring. Nothing weird ever happens. I trust it so much I even use it professionally (online teaching). It also stopped my distro hopping which is a little bit sad. Great video, thx.

Switched to ArchCraft because I'm too lazy to rice, and I'm absolutely loving it

The Chaotic AUR is just a binary repo built from the regular AUR. It's not a separate AUR. Very cool project. I recommend everyone checking it out to see if you like it.

EndeavourOS is hands-down my fav Arch-based distro. it's the closest thing to vanilla Arch while making installation much easier and the EOS community is very helpful and welcoming. I also like how Mabox is able to run on older machines. I know DT loves Arco and might give it a try eventually.

DT, the Chaotic-AUR is not a separate AUR, it's a script that automatically compiles popular AUR packages (with a few exclusions like software that is needed for the Garuda project) so you don't have to compile it yourself

I appreciate the honesty here, while some of us have moved on from Manjaro, we can all agree that it has done for Arch what Ubuntu did for Debian. Reliable and friendly. A good starting point.

Endeavour OS has worked the best of all for me out of the box. Even manjaro give me some tiny problems that eOS did not. Also comes with the minimal software necessary but everything just works, even a wacom tablet.

Switched to Manjaro XFCE last year, in March, still rock solid and stable for regular, simple use. Zero crashes on a pretty old laptop, very huge difference in comparison to daily blue screens of death. One of the best decisions I could have ever make, after so many years of windows, this is just beyond good and even unimaginable.

As a gamer I can honestly say that Garuda KDE version has been great. It had everything I needed and the install was so smooth. I actually like the fact that I was able to choose what I wanted to install. Plus I just love the design of and feel of it. I haven't distro hopped since finding this one.

So far I've tried Manjaro, Garuda and EndevourOS, all using KDE. I've found all three to be fantastic Arch based distro's. I'm currently using EndevourOS as it seems to have a bit of a stability edge for me on my setup, but I must confess I did install PAMAC straight away lol.

I jumped from Manjaro to EndeavorOS and it feels nice seeing your skills grow, the more you use Arch Based Distros

EndeavourOS running Plasma is on my primary desktop. It's been running without any major problems for nearly 18 months. I've tried to run Manjaro in the past, but it would break after only a month or two.

I'm running Garuda for two months now and I'm very happy with it. Very well thought distro with useful tweaks under the hood.

I tried a number of different distros on my main system, including Endeavor, and I ended up with Manjaro. I found that it gave me the best combination of features that I wanted. And I was able to connect my printer and scanner wirelessly on Manjaro where I had difficulty doing it in Endeavor. Didn't try Arco or Garuda, though. I'll have to try those some time in the future.

Been using Manjaro for going on 3 years now and I'm quite pleased with it. I've considered switching to EndeavourOS for a closer to Arch distro but I don't want to be hassled distrohopping due to how many things I got installed and configured.

Artix has weekly iso's, which are just below the list you showed. It's in development, and I guess there just hasn't been a "stable" iso, or they just haven't approved it or something. But don't be fooled, it's getting developed constantly.

Artix is great...they have a weekly iso, unfortunately they do not make it obvious on the download page so most people will just grab the old iso's.

I use Artix as a daily driver not because I hate systemd, but because I tried it out, liked it and everything I need works on it. I also like the challenge of learning something else than systemd and because I believe competition in every niche, including init systems, accelerates progress. I definitely agree about the age of the ISO. (Also, to be fair, they also have their own repos, so the init isn't the only difference)

I would call myself pretty new to linux (using for not more than 3 months). I was using arch for a month, broke it and installed manjaro and I'm satisfed with it. It has great defaults that look good and it's comfortable to use and also has arch's advantages
