Pretty sure CentOS is no longer alive.

And Gentoo: Gentoo is for users who tried Arch and thought "Okay, this is a good start, but could I have even _more_ control and customization? Something where I'll be able to engage in even deeper levels of obsessive, borderline-psychotic amounts of optimization?"

If you're gonna explain EVERY Linux distro, that would be about an hour long.

Arch and simplicity in the same sentence is wild

Almost every "mother distro". Debian, Red Hat, Open Suse and Arch. I'd added Slackware, Gentoo and probably Void instead of Ubuntu and Ubuntu based distros.

I must say that on my personal PC I use Linux and everything is fine, but on my work PC I use Windows and lately I have had problems and I don't know what it could be.

- RHEL is paid as far as I know.
- CentOS is ded.
- ZorinOS has a paid version too.
- Pacman is supposedly the fastest package manager while DNF (Fedora Linux's package manager) is the slowest (they are working on making if faster though).
- I know a lot of people don't consider NixOS to not be a Linux distro cause it's massively different from normal Linux distros but hey, it uses the Linux kernel. Would be fun to see you make a video about that.

what beginner-friendly distros would you recommend for gaming? I'am trying to switch from windosw 11 to Linux but I'am afraid i choose the wrong distro. It's kinda overwhelming tbh.

Debian is meant for making things ontop of it. Like other distros, but can do anything from simple system clocks to programs running a space station. It's actually stability comes from how hard you have to push it to actually break it.

You missed alpine, steamos, ArchEX, redox (underrated), ubuntu flavours, KDE neon, android, webOS, pop!_os and couple more linux distros.

Never try to explain EVERY linux distro, there are far too many...

Been using Mint Cinnamon for years. Great distro. Very reliable.

Fedora and Ubuntu are both very good distros. I find Fedora to be better with its UI and big community for help and FAQs.

Finally!!! At least somewhere they haven't started talking complete nonsense about how Arch is "unstable" and "updates can break your system"!

Missed opportunity in not talking about how the distros are related to each other. CentOS Fedora and RHEL all fall under the same family the way Debian, Ubuntu and Linux Mint do. CentOS stream is also not really a stable distribution anymore as it is the mid ground between upstream fedora and actually stable RHEL.

Every Linux distro is free and open source. (If it isn't, it isn't legal.)

But which version of Linux is good for Windows 10 users who just want it to be secure up-to-date and be able to play games on steam without compatibility issues or GPU driver problems?
