I don't know why but... I just can't start a conversation in front of someone.. Not even my own parents... I'm just a really shy person... And nobody likes to start a conversation with me. I'm like that kid that nobody likes because of how they look. I think I look perfectly fine the way I am, but all the other girls seem so confident and out going. I'm just that one kid in a room that nobody talks to :( That's what happened at summer camp, I never wanna go ever again! Someone please help me, I need help asap

i love saying thank you. it makes people smile and feel good, and when i do something that people say thank you to, i feel good about it. like holding the door for a mom with a stroller, or an old lady and they say thank you very much, it's an awesome feeling!

But, what if you're really ugly and you're also very stupid? Also nobody likes to talk to me, so... boosting MY self esteem is nearly impossible.

its funny how people work. they tell others that they're absolutely gorgeous and worth it, while they tell themselves the opposite. how one can do something to another, but when that other does the same to them, they wouldn't be okay with it. when you try to do everything for a person and look over their mistakes and tell them that they are worth it while they put you down and point out your flaws. it's hilarious how I know these things from experience. but what's not funny nor hilarious, is that many people who have read this comment has been in at least one of these situations. and I've been in all, unfortunately.

This helped me out so much! I was recently put down on any talent I thought I had by one of my "best friends" and it left me in a sort of depressive paranoid creative funk. Watching this video lifted my spirits and I finally feel like drawing again!

If anyone is depressed do yoga or meditate. Ive done it in the past (and going to soon) and it really helps. Also try other things to take control of your mind. Like becoming a vegetarian, vegan, or staying off of electronics for a while <3 I do all and I stopped many unhealthy things and I'm so much happier :)

You are often your greatest tormentor. People around you are not judging and evaluating you all the time, the world is not a hostile place and you are not the thug's horse poop! Learn to treat yourself with more love and care. This may seem obvious, but the truth is that many stop at this basic lesson, which is learning to love and accept with the complete package. When you love and accept yourself as it is, it makes it much easier to receive love and affection from others, to be valued at work and respected where you circulate. Exercise this muscle so important to your self-esteem.

I greatly enjoy these guy's way of giving advice; it's not some fake generalized viewpoint, and they always respect the viewer's perception on the topic.

A lot of people on here have a problem with their self-esteem because society puts so much pressure on what everyone but yourself thinks. Friends are not friends anymore, they're just status symbols in today's society. Having no friends doesn't make you worthless...so I would say separate yourself from your friends for a while! Set aside some time for yourself, figure out what YOU like to do, then do it! Don't do what everyone else likes just to be "popular".
