Peshawar was one of the most important cities of the Afghan Durrani Empire. Maharajah Ranjit Singh 1st took it in 1823 and then in 1834. After the battle of Jamrud in 1837, the Sikh Empire annexed all the Pashtun areas to the east of Khyber Pass. Afghan Emir Dost Muhammad Khan tried to retake Peshawar but failed. This video also tells the story of the finest Sikh general, Hari Singh Nalwa and his death in the battle of Jamrud.

Bhangi Misle had control over lahore since 1765-1799. Maharaja Ranjit Singh took over Lahore from Bhangi Sardar. It is according to Syed History who has most history books about Punjab.
