Lucy Chen Accidentally Auditions for 'American Idol' - The Rookie

After making an arrest at auditions for 'American Idol,' rookie Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil) accidentally finds herself meeting Ryan Seacrest and auditioning for judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. I fell in love with Melissa over 10 years ago watching old performances of her on Canadian Idol. Last I saw, she had just played Eponine in a Toronto run of Les Miz. What a pleasant surprise to check in on her a couple months ago and find out she's now a legit actress on a Primetime American TV show. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more! 😍
