Not Losing vs. Slow Weight Loss

Plateaued with Weight Loss

How to Lose That Last 10 Pounds

Dr. Berg talks about weight loss plateau.
1. Keep your carbs below 20 grams (esp. if you have a slow metabolism)
2. No snacking between meals - do intermittent fasting (don't eat when you are not hungry). If you have low blood sugar, add more fat to the meal.
3. Keep your vegetables on the high end. You will need the fiber for the gut and the nutrients
4. Hidden carbs - avoid alcohol and fruit are the most common.
5. Stress - go from long walks and change your environment.
6. Sleep - this can kill your metabolism. Adding another hour of sleep could be the difference between losing and not losing
7. Other health problems - if you have "other" health problems like thyroid, constipation, problems with your cycles (menstruation), and inflammation.
8. Supplements (add minerals and B-vitamins)
9. Adding the exercise - whole body higher intensity, short duration with lots of rest is best.

Started watching Dr. Berg's channel. I quit cereal, rice, pasta completely, limit real sugar, potatoes and corn in the form of tortillas to about about once a month. Reduced coffee from 8 cups per day ( 1 mug = 2 cups folks), to 4 cups. Substituted turnips for potatoes and cauliflower for rice. Increased greens to 4 cups per day and 1/2 an avocado per day (I should 7 cups of greens and 2 per day but avocados are expensive). 3 whole eggs daily. Cut protein down to around 80 grams per day. Fat bombs yes!! I eat twice a day 1pm & 6pm, no snacks. ACV drink before last meal & or bed time. Walk 3 miles 5 days per week preferably before 1st meal. I average around 1500 to 1800 cal with 1st meal btwn 600 - 900 cal. I know that this isn't perfect but being consistent w/ these tweaks over 10 months helped me at 5'6" 245lbs, 44 in waist to 180 lbs 35 in waist. I used to eat 6 small meals of 300 cal and lift heavy. Got results but always hungry and very cranky! No longer exercise of choice now is walking! I no longer have access to gym but I do calisthenics and jump rope now that I've lost the weight

Dairy was the cause of my plateau, I still eat it, but less quantities and I’m walking 20 -30min and I got out of my plateau! 🙃

I often refer you to anyone interested. I tell them you are very straight forward and your speaking voice is calming as well. As for myself, If I need an answer I will always check your videos first.

Doc the only thing different I teach my clients is walking for cardio. When on OMAD you do not want to stress the body bc of cortisol which prevents weight loss. I teach a minimum of 10k steps per day and I personally do a minimum of 20k steps per day which is 10 miles us. OMAD plus walking is absolutely the magic formula for weight loss.

LOL - "If you can't sleep, watch my videos." I know you went on to complete the rest of the sentence, but I was already giggling by then. You do bring up a good point, though, about adding as little as an hour of sleep - I usually get 7 - 7 1/2 during the warmer months because I want to be up early enough to get my workout in before the sun gets too hot, but now that it's November I've been staying in bed a bit longer and my body seems to be appreciating it.

I was stalled, then tried Dr. Berg’s kale shake, slept for 8 hours, and was 2 lbs lighter after the fast.😊 It was water weight, I guess.Recipe: 1 cup of raw kale, 1&1/2 cups water, dash of cinnamon, a banana, a few blueberries: in the blender for four minutes until it’s totally pureed. (It is good even without theberries.)

The program is working great for me, but my wife is stuck. I feel bad for her. I think she looks great and she says she feels better but she still has 30lbs to lose. I hope this video will help. Thank You Dr Berg.

Very timely Doc, I just hit a plateau!
I think the potassium and being under 20gms of carbs is the key for me.
Loved how you handled the topics of constipation and menstruation with class.
You the Man!
