Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick In Talks To Create A Movie Studio - AMC Movie News

According to a report from tech site Engadget, the video game company Activision Blizzard is looking to create their own production company to develop movies based on their video game properties rather than license them out to other movie studios.

About damn time... I was always a fan of their cinematic in game, big Blizzard fan. The newly released Warlords of Draenor cinematic just shows they can produce high quality content that's not a game.

There still hasn't been a video game-adaptation which has a.) been well received by critics, and b.) has smashed at the box office. If I were AB I'd wait to see how Warcraft and Assassins Creed do.

We need a fucking Starcraft movie. I know everyone always says they want their favorite games to be movies, but the story in Starcraft and the general atmosphere would be perfect for a movie, if it had a good director and a decent budget. It wouldn't even have to follow the story, it could be something original in the same universe.
If they could make something look even half as good as Blizzard's cinematics, then it could be great. Maybe after Warcraft...

I buy it. Marvel did it, that's how Marvel Studios came about and then Disney bought them once they realized what Marvel was doing and wanted a piece of it.
Activision is one of the biggest gaming publishers, probably the biggest actually(outside of Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony). If any of them could do it it's definitely Activision. Sony already has a film studio but they don't know Wtf they're doing with it. Wake me when Nintendo does it.
