I feel really bad for Bobby Kotick. What is he gonna do now that he can't get that $260 million payout?

Dude just wants his golden parachute. lol
And he also thanks all you COD players for buying the game every year, the battle pass, Black Cell, and the bundles.

This goofy so badly wants that golden parachute (if that) while Microsoft uses his company to leverage it against the entire business for the next ten years.

Bobby Kotick’s anger with some Xbot tears in the side.

What a time to be alive, “CMA’s approval is guaranteed, say experts”.

Bobby is a genius by making the idiotic masses believe an acquisition between giants is somehow consumer friendly and competition friendly.

Guess nobody has the brains to realize that selling a product that’s WAY BEYOND 50% consumed by PLAYSTATION to the competition will 99.9% likely result on a downgrade to the experience by said over 50%+ of consumers. Regardless of how the illogical masses want to think that a 10 year deal + word of mouth would somehow not result on the PS majority getting a worse MW3 in 2025… if Cod didn’t move into a Halo infinite situation by then.

Good.
Looks like Mr. Kotick won't be able to get his new epic mount in IRL.
I hope they keep on saying no Micro-soft gaming shouldn't have 70/80 percent of gaming IP or for future cloud gaming.
Make some good games that don't rely on a battle pass or loot boxes Mr. Kotick...
Plus also sell said games at full price to only then have to buy the battle pass..

regulators blocked a $70B deal because microsoft has the best cloud service which is only estimated to be worth a billion dollars, but the majority of that valuation comes from Microsoft's game pass service which isn't exclusively a cloud gaming service. cloud gaming is a feature of the service that most users don't utilize. really faulty logic by the regulators to hold up the deal on this premise.

Microsoft can just as easily pay for exclusive cloud gaming contracts with activision/blizzard which really hurts consumer choice. Microsoft has already stated they're willing to allow other services to have access to activision/blizzard games. the other potential outcome is activision/blizzard creates their own cloud service which furthers market segmentation and also hurts consumers. It turns into the streaming war when people need to have a half dozen subscriptions to get all the content they want.

I understand the desire to not let microsoft consolidate power, but this deal is far from that. combined, microsoft and activision/blizzard would still not be the largest game publisher. the industry would still have plenty of competition.

Microsoft could build a SpaceX rocket manufacture competitor with that kind of money which would probably pump the hell out of their stock.

Everyone who’s clearly for this deal keeps saying the same thing about the regulators looking at this deal.
“They don’t understand”. They then proceed not to explain how and why these two giants need each other or how them being together would specifically benefit customers and the economics of the industry.
These talking heads and executives are arbitraged to the absolute gills, praying for a payout from MSFT.

PS5 exclusives only.
Another exclusives are materials for manufacturing PS5 consoles for 1 or 2 years and then will start manufacturing Xbox Series X.

This result is good for gaming. Microsoft only offering 10 yr deals. Exclusives are not good for gamers
