i don't think dish soap would be the best choice to do this. those detergents are kinda harsh. i use warm castor oil to clean my ears and about once a month flush with peroxide.

When I do these for our patients we use half and half water and peroxide… you can make a at home spray device with a huge “jumbo” size syringe that way the tip does not shove the wax further in the ear canal. Make sure the water is a warm/hot as you personally can tolerate. To break it up better get some debrox at your local CVS, Walgreens, or drug store. The debrox is an oily substance that gets drops into tye ears and helps break up stubborn hardened wax. Spray the syringe field with water and peroxide and you will feel 10 times better. Now if you were doing this for the first time, if you do feel any actual soreness or pain while doing this, stop immediately and make sure that you go to your primary care doctor so that they can look inside the ear to make sure that there is no infection starting to muster… You can do this constantly at home so you don’t have to go to your PCP but keep in mind any pain stop immediately and make sure you go see your doctor!

A doctor told my husband to use hydrogen peroxide in his ears. I think warm water would also just do though. No dish soap

Everyone has their own way of doing it. I also do this, but the way my grandma taught me was to mix warm water, alcohol and distilled vinegar. It wasn't until a few months ago that I was binge watching videos from an otolaryngologist in the uk about ear wax cleaning that he explained, "Alcohol helps by drying the water and vinegar helps by restorint the acidity or natural ph that your ear needs produce wax"

i'd reccomend an ear camera with a scoop on it. spraying water in your ear can cause vertigo and/or ear infections. the ear camera you can at least see what you're doing. after i get done, i dip a q tip with some peroxide on it to clean the rest out. im very familiar with my ears so i know when to stop pushing the q tip in.

using warm water will help with the dizziness!
Edit: as someone generously pointed out, make sure its lukewarm, and somewhere around 37 degrees Celcius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, as sudden changes are the real issue.

I did this… and literally stayed dizzy on and off for over a month from giving myself impacted ear wax…. 10/10 do not recommend lol 😂 but to each their own.

Just a heads up for people with tubes or a hole in their ear drum. DONT DO THIS it’s only for normal ears 😂

Please don’t do this at home. When aimed incorrectly or done with the wrong pressure + temperature it can be quite bad and give you vertigo/ not to mention the amount of contraindications present for wax removal - infections if you have perforations and issues with grommets falling off or causing deeper infections in the middle ear. Please consult a specialist, Audiologists and GPs trained for Cerumen removal are your best bet.

No dishsoap!!! Will dry out your ears. Prevent ear wax with some drops of oil in your ear. If you get dizzy you have to much water pressure you can rupture your eardrums

This is the worst thing to do for ear wax removal. Get a professional to remove plugged or extreme ear wax build up as majority isn't ear wax but a build up of dead skin that hasn't migrated out of your ears. Water can cause swimmers ear and be more seseptable to eat infections as it throws off the PH balance in the ear.

You may be dizzy because the water is either too warm or too cold. There’s a sweet spot that you can prevent from being dizzy.

What if you pour water inside your ear wouldn’t it damage your hearing

Not that I'd wish impacted ear canals on anyone, but the " itchy" feeling of having the process done with the water pressure is borderline euphoric. Then you get to gawk at the massive amounts of wax you were harboring. 😵‍💫

Does water ever get stuck inside? What do you do to prevent water from getting stuck inside? I need to do this but I’m scared 😅

So is this all past the eardrum or built up before clogging the eardrum? Does the eardrum open n close with the flushing allowing the buildup past the eardrum to be washed out.
