A few things I know of, This is actually the deadliest era in terms of ancient wars. (20-40 Million)
That coalition against Dong Zhuo, the real MVP of that was Sun Jian who unfortunately is overshadowed by how great his son became, he's in part 2.
Cao Cao and Yuan Shu were actually childhood friends, I believe they were both getting education at the same castle, though I could be wrong on the specifics.
Cao Cao is easily on of my favorite ancient historical figures, unfortunately his most famous story 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' written well after his death kind paints him out to be a Machiavellian Villain.

I would recommend the oversimplified video on the three kingdoms period, it goes into more details on how the Han empire fell and how the empire was reunited in the end, in a oversimplified manner of course

The three Kingdoms era would not be recommended first dive. Its like reading the Odyssey midway without any Greek mythology understanding.

He can't really take the supplies with him since it's behind enemy lines. They'll get chased quickly.
