Don't Buy These (The 5 Most Unreliable Cars I Could Find)

Показать описание
These are some of the worst cars you can buy today (at least from my point of view) because they have many known reliability issues or problems that could leave you without any cash to take out the spouse! There's even a Lexus, a BMW, and an Audi in this list, plus some other brands that have just missed the mark with their reliability and created one of the most unreliable cars for you today.

BMW reliability has always been a hot topic, and I know many people expect Jeep SUVs to be a bit of a struggle, but some of the other cars I review on this top 5 list might surprise you.

Also, do not buy the GMC Acadia, Chrysler Pacifica, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Altima and the Kia Spectra, either.

Great vid, as always. Jeep? That all- American icon of automotive virility of street and battlefield? Made by Crysler, owned by Fiat. With the history of quality control overseen by Fiat, bus fare should be a standard option. And Audi, the diagnostic cost at the dealer is an invite to poverty!

I was in the car business for 20+ years. Most cars are problems looking for a place to happen!😳 I am a die hard Toyota fanboy. They make quality cars that are well built and will last a long time❤, however you still need to give them TLC, oil changes are key. Keep the oil changed as required. Honda is pretty good too, not quite as good as Toyota. They have really embraced turbos, which I’m not a fan of Turbos. Great for performance but the wear out sooner than n/a engines.

Dang Mark, you are the foremost authority on junk imports. You actually carved out a good niche for your business.

I don’t like junk cars, Honda and Toyota forever as long as they’re better value. 👍

Great video, as always. I have a 2008 SAAB 9-5 with 126, 000 miles. My former independent SAAB master tech only worked on SAAB's, but told me that he was going to start working on Audi's too.

I told him that when and if I sell my SAAB, should I get an Audi? He said, not if you want to use it as a daily driver and have tens of thousands to throw away.

Since new, my 2008 SAAB 9-5 has cost me $5, 100 in parts, labor, fluids and preventative maintenance. That comes to $364 per year. And it still drives like a dream.

Mark, I get good info from knowing the vagaries of the OEM's in terms of them peddling their wares.
Regarding the Lexus, it was back to 2014 when the Eh arrived that these were a problem, not just 2020.
When I bought my used 2014 Lexus ES 250, I was told by Lexus to steer clear of the EH.
I request more perspective as to when these cars (any car) becomes problematic ie. out of warranty, maintainance plan, or +100, 000 km, age etc. Thanks, keep it going.

In 1985 I made a big mistake and bought a brand new Dodge Daytona turbo coupe. I would be on the interstate at 70 and it would shut off. Well when that happened I would lose my power steering. GREAT 👍 Oh the front drivers seat would break from the seat track. I drove the car to the dealer and left it there

Great review. Nice to let Lexus owners know the odd negative needle in the haystack.
No brand is perfect

Several of my coworkers drive Jeeps of various kinds. They are always breaking down, but they simply don't care. It's a desert lifestyle vehicle for them.

I'm aware of the oil consumption issues on older Audi's but the 2 I've had; 2011 A4; sold with ~200k kms and my current 2014 A4 with just shy of 200k kms haven't had any major issues. Did replace the HPFP on the 2011 but that was only about $300 and literally took about 5mins to swap out (and to be fair it's usually the cam follower that wears out but for that price why not replace both!), outside of regular maintenance that's the only thing I've had to deal with. Maybe I've just been lucky or maybe regular maintenance does actually do something lol

In 2017 Jeep also offered an automatic tranny in the Patriot. The tranny was made by KIA and was used in the much heavier Sedona van. Honestly I have never seen one with the Automatic fail. If you can find a 2017 with the and dont mind the basic look and its probably a good buy for dependable, cheap transportation. But there are not many of them out there. The rest of the patriots. I agree... stay away from, for that matter ANY CAR with a CVT from that time period, RUN

Thanks for giving us more info on cars that you know about.

I just thought I'd add my own personal experience with a 2015 BMW X1 sdrive28i. It was purchased about a year and a half ago with only 41k miles. Now, it sits at just above 50k (I'm aware in general issues don't start until later). The N20 common issues are well documented online and the vehicle has had numerous recalls in its lifespan. I had to do it one time but it was just for emissions and they just flashed the system. With that being said, with this being low mileage it has not given any issues or leaks. Just did tires, oil changes, and brakes. Do not really plan on keeping it long term.

I gotta say the car isn't too bad. I mean what I like is that with the first gen sdrive was actually RWD not FWD. Also, it drives pretty nice as it has the e9x chassis. It's really a re-skinned, heavier 3 series.
