I got my cast off 5 days ago and found a printed version of some similar exercises on the net, which I have been doing, but they were not as clear as yours. Thank you both for showing me how they are done properly. This also goes for the finger exercises in the previous video.

Wow! Thank you for this video! I just got my cast off and was told to do "range of motion" exercises, when I asked what kinds they just told me to think about how your wrist is supposed to move and do that! This is so helpful! Thank you

My only constructive comment on this video would be that I don't think you stressed enough that people should not expect initially to be able to do anything close to what was shown in the video. In other words, people need to understand that when they first get a cast off they should only be moving their hand and wrist as much as is possible without creating actual pain. A certain level of discomfort is one thing, and that is to be expected during physical therapy or occupational therapy. However, when people are recovering from a wrist fracture and now have the cast off, they should not feel disheartened because they cannot do the exercises as they are shown in this here video. Any level of movement that they are able to accomplish is a good thing, and with each subsequent session of exercise they should try to push themselves a little bit more each time and eventually they will indeed see that they have a wider range of movement. But again, you never want to do anything such that it will create actual pain for you.

I wish you had mentioned right at the beginning that the wrist and fingers can be virtually frozen stiff after cast removal, and that any movement to start with is excruciating!!

I broke my wrist 6 weeks ago and just got my cast off today. Extremely stiff and tender. I can do minimal range of motion but it sound like all of this is normal. Keep up with the exercises as much as you can and it’ll get better with time. It would be weird if we could do everything the same as we can with the other arm, right away

Hi Bob & Brad
Thanks so much for your videos. I've had my cast off three weeks ago. I'm in England & I didn't manage my post
-cast expectations very well. I'm in my late 50s & had no idea that i'd be in such discomfort & would have such nerve pain & soft tissue issues. Your exercises are very sensible & I'm tackling them reasonably well. I was prescribed gabepentin but so far I'm managing without. Love you guys.

Thank you so much. I've had my cast off for a week now and I was worried I would never get back to full motion with my wrist. I see in the comments that this is normal so I feel better and I will definitely do these exercises

I would love to do the exercises but cast off today and to be honest i was almost in tears from the pain even on gentle movement. I think these exercises must be for weeks after removal of cast . I am contacting my physio and will ask them what i ought to do. GP prescribed me codeine due to the pains, I never take painkillers ever. I think though the videos are really great and most helpful for the weeks/months to come thank you.
